1. Which member of the Morgendorffer family is not present on the car journey to school on Daria's first day at Lawndale High?

Answer: Helen

Daria and Quinn's father, Jake, is driving them to school. Helen, their mother, has a stressful high-powered job and so is probably already at work at this point. Daria and Quinn keep turning the radio on and off to drown out what Jake is saying.

2. What does the school psychologist insist on calling Daria?

Answer: Dara

Daria corrects her, but the shrink calls her Dara anyway.

3. What animals does Daria claim she can see in the picture the psychologist shows her?

Answer: Ponies

"A herd of beautiful wild ponies running free across the plains" to be exact. This is explained in a later episode when it is revealed that Daria has had psychological tests before, and was told that the ink-blot pictures could represent whatever she wanted.

Unfortunately, the picture she is shown in this episode is clearly of two people, and she is only saying it to annoy the psychologist.

4. Which teacher is in charge of the after-school self-esteem lessons?

Answer: Mr. O'Neill

Mr. O'Neill is also an English teacher and tries to be understanding of all people. Basically he's a bit of a hippy. He ran the "OK to cry Corral" in "Is It Fall Yet?", the Daria feature length episode.

5. Daria meets her best friend Jane in the self-esteem class.

Answer: True

Jane has taken the class six times but fails the test to get out of the class on purpose, because having low self esteem makes her feel "special".

6. Quinn tells her new friends that she has a sister.

Answer: False

Quinn tells people she's an only child because she doesn't want anyone to know she's related to someone as clever as Daria. Brainy people are not seen as being cool enough to Quinn's friends in the Fashion Club.

Helen is trying to spend more time with Daria in case "a lack of mother/daughter bonding" is the cause of Daria's low self esteem. Instead of doing something that Daria wants to do, they end up going shopping for new business suits for Helen.

Answer: Pizza Forest

Pizza Forest is a children's restaurant where the waiters are dressed up as woodland creatures and sing songs to the diners. Daria wants her family to suffer.

Answer: A sci-fi convention

Daria makes them go to the sci-fi convention shown on her favourite show, "Sick Sad World". Quinn says she wants to stay on her own but a strange boy called Artie, who thinks he was abducted by aliens, starts talking to her and she runs after the rest of her family.
