Televised in America as "Clatterford", after what affectionate soubriquet for Women's Institutes is the comedy named in Britain?

Answer: Jam and Jerusalem

"Jam and Jerusalem" was written by Jennifer Saunders, who also appeared in the cast.

Why "Jam and Jerusalem"?

The Womens' Institutes began in Wales in 1915 and quickly became an important part of British rural life, active in community projects and local programmes. The WI was reluctant to become actively involved in war work and during the Second World War group activities were limited to things such as jam making.

C. Hubert H. Parry's 1916 composition "Jerusalem" uses words from an 1804 poem by William Blake. Although it is not an official anthem of the British Womens' Institutes, it has been accepted as such since first being sung at meetings in the 1920s.
10. Dawn French shared a million pound kiss with Hugh Grant.

Answer: True

"Comic Relief", a British charity organisation set up in 1985, holds a Telethon on BBC TV every other year to raise funds.

In the 1995 Telethon viewers were urged to pledge funds during the French and Saunders segment of the show, with the promise that if a million pounds was raised there would be a passionate "snog" between Dawn French and Hugh Grant.

The money was raised and Dawn changed into a version of Elizabeth Hurley's Versace safety pin dress, before she and Hugh Grant kissed on a lip-shaped red sofa.
