Dexter and Angel are shining flashlights on the walls of the latest crime scene and theorizing about the appearance of the bloodstains. Angel suggests: "two circus clowns dancing", whilst Dexter counters with: "Ah, it looks like a lobster. See the claws?"

Angel asks: "Why do bloodstains always look like crustaceans to you?" Dexter answers: "I like seafood". Angel says: "Rorschach would say you have a hard time relating to others".

Hermann Rorschach was a Swiss Freudian psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who invented a test based on inkblots (known as the Rorschach inkblot test). Hence the fake answers of inkblots and butterflies (apparently, a common image seen when viewing an inkblot).

Answer: Handcuffs

Debra and Rudy are necking even before the car stops. Debra says: "Come on, I gotta go, there's dead body in that house". Rudy replies: "There's a hot body in here".

They discuss their desire to maul each other and Rudy asks Debra to call him when she is done. Debra replies: "Yeah. I'll bring handcuffs".

Answer: Hot chocolate

The door is opened only for Dexter to find Paul on the other side. Paul explains Rita is stuck in traffic, and that he doesn't mind the extra kid time but is not that keen on the court-appointed supervisor.

Paul then insincerely apologizes to Dexter: "I feel really bad about the last time I was here. I didn't mean to get all alpha male on you". This is a reference to Dexter having a relationship with Rita, Paul's wife.

When Rita arrives and the kids appear in the room, Dexter says: "Hey, I brought hot chocolate", to which the kids reply: "Dad already made us some - with extra marshmallows". Rita takes one, to which Paul snidely remarks: "Take two - looks like he's got extra".

Answer: Dr Emmett Meridian

Dexter looks through the victims' files as he eats: "Talk to me, ladies. What do you have in common?" As Dexter realizes the connection, he thinks: "The three suicide sisters shared the same therapist, Dr Emmett Meridian. He must be terrible at his job".

Now, if you picked any of the incorrect answers because you definitely remember the name from the show, award yourself 100 theoretical fun trivia points. The three incorrect names ARE taken from the show. However, they appear only on a page on the first victim's file, for a period of about one second. You have an eidetic (photographic) memory!

For the record, Dr Miguel Montes was an Orthodontist, Dr Robert Deves was a personal Physician and Dr Bert Doggert was a Pediatric Physician.

Answer: He knocks a drink out of Dexter's hand

In a brief scene being recalled during Dexter's visit to the Psychiatrist, three bullies approach Dexter as he sits eating lunch. The lead bully says: "Hey Morgan. I can't believe that out of two million sperm, you were the fastest swimmer". He then knocks a drink out of Dexter's hand. One of the assistant bullies says: "What are you gonna do about it?"

Cut scenes to find young Dexter saying to his father: "I wanted to kill him, Dad".

And therein lies a salient lesson for all bullies! Beware, you may just be bullying a future serial killer!

Answer: Fingerprints

LaGuerta tells Perry: "We haven't been able to match your prints against a positive on the lozenge wrapper we found up at the abandoned hospital". Perry explains: "Liquid nitrogen - I used it to freeze the body parts. It's extremely effective - but it burns". Perry holds up his hands to reveal fingertips that are deformed.

Author's note: You know how your skin looks like if you have put super glue on it and subsequently removed it? That's what Perry's fingertips look like.

Answer: Sean Ellis

"Goodbye, Dexter. Hello, ladies" says Dexter as he deletes the file of Sean Ellis. Ellis was the pseudonym Dexter used during his visits to the Psychiatrist.

Art, Jeff and Ken were other names displayed on the laptop.

Twice, during Dexter's time in the office, Rita texts him. This becomes a somewhat irritating recurrent theme during Rita's time in the series!

Answer: He makes a cast of her legs

As Debra arrives at the door, Rudy is working on a prosthetic hand. He tells her: "Stay where you are, I'm armed". Rudy explains that he has a patient who lost both her legs in an accident. He tells Debra that he wants to give his patient "a new, smokin' set of legs. Yours".

Answer: Frozen Barbie

Frozen Barbie refers to the Barbie Doll that Rudy left in Dexter's freezer in an earlier episode.

Interestingly, at the end of the episode, Rudy is seen replying to Dexter's message that says: "I'm in pieces. Why the cold shoulder?" The screen has a hyperlink that says: "Reply to: frozenbarbie@hotmail.web". However, when Rudy replies, the screen shows that the email is being sent to frozenbarbie@hotmail.com.

For the record, Rudy types: "Barbie, be patient. One day we'll share a cold one".

Answer: "Make Me Lose Control" - Eric Carmen

The scenes fades from Dexter cutting the psychiatrist with a power saw to Debra singing in front of the mirror. She is dressed in jeans and a bra and singing into a trophy.

She is interrupted by a call from Rudy who asks: "Is that Eric Carmen?". Embarrassed, Debra turns the music off and denies it. A conversation ensues where Debra says "You're just full of surprises". Rudy's ominous reply: "Oh, you have no idea...".
