Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who informs Dolores about the maze?

Answer: Bernard

Bernard meets with Dolores in the backroom labs once again, asking her if she remembers where she was and what happened. Her parents were killed and she ran. Bernard asks if she would like to forget, and she says no, because her pain and grief is all she has left for those she lost. She then confirms that she knows this based on a scripted dialogue she had inside her about love. With Bernard, she says that there may be something wrong with the world or, else, something wrong with her. He says that there's another option. If she plays the game and finds her way to the center of the maze, then she can be free.

Dolores wakes up outside. In her hand is a revolver. William, still by her side, hands her a mug.
2. Maeve, remembering events that she shouldn't be during her time in the labs, draws which of these?

Answer: A man in a mask

Maeve and Clementine have a chat in the Sweetwater Saloon, but at some point, Maeve seems to have a glitch, hearing sounds she shouldn't be while the rest of the noise in the bar tunes out. She looks closer at Clementine and finds that she's bleeding...and that they're both on the floor.

A fight breaks out in the saloon and a man comes by and shoots her in the stomach. Maeve remembers being whisked away to an operating room and being sent back to the saloon. But then she snaps back; she and Clementine are having the same conversation. Maeve heads home, remembering that a bullet fragment may have been left inside her.

In fear, she draws out an image that she recalls-- a man wearing a futuristic mask. She goes to hide it beneath a loose floorboard and finds a pile of such images, all of which she must have forgotten drawing.
3. Bernard confirms to Elsie that the constellation she and Ashley found during their trip into the park was, in fact, Orion.

Answer: False

In the labs, Theresa asks Elsie and Ashley about their encounter in the park and the danger of having a host smash its own head in with a rock. Bernard checks in only to find that Theresa is having her team take over investigation for the issue with that particular host. He allows it and takes Elsie aside, telling her not to keep prying into non-issues. Hosts, he says, can't imagine things, so she shouldn't be imagining that they can. He also informs her that her mysterious constellation is not Orion as she and Ashley believed since it has one more star in its belt.

Dolores, meanwhile, is still with William and Logan. William wants to take her back to Sweetwater, but Logan wants to get their bounty hunt done and over with as it was William's idea in the first place.

Out in the Blood Arroyo, Lawrence watches as the Man in Black searches for an egg-laying snake and his next clue to find the maze. They find it...in the form of a woman bathing in the river. That's when they're spotted.
4. The woman that the man in black encounters in the Blood Arroyo river has what tattooed on her body?

Answer: Snake

The Man in Black and Lawrence find that the woman with the snake tattoo is searching for something of great value, and while she initially wants to feed them to her horses, the man in black instead convinces her that they'll be coming along.

In the labs, Ashley is informed that Dolores is running far off her loop, possibly in service of a guest, though it's unclear since Dr. Ford's new narrative is throwing so many hosts off their own tracks.

Dolores ends up in another town with William and Logan where she comes across Lawrence's daughter. Dolores asks where she's from, and the girl says that they came from the same place. As Dolores has a flashback of a whitewashed church, she notices that the girl had drawn a maze in the sand. During this time, a park worker finds Dolores and suggests that he take her home, but she makes it clear that she will not be going back. Fortunately, William arrives to insist that she's with him, and she decides to continue on for the bounty.
5. The man in black says that he'll rob a prison using which of these items?

Answer: A match

The next night, Dolores apologizes to William for being a burden on him and his friend, but William says he's just happy she came along. She's unsure of the way she needs to go, but she'll figure it out. Something is calling her. As she looks up at the moon she remembers dying, and a man in a mask looming over her, and she nearly collapses.

The man in black ends up staying the night with the snake woman's camp and is surprised when two men state their admiration for him. Apparently, one of them had a sister who was cured by his foundation. The man in black doesn't take the compliment, insisting that he doesn't want to be bothered on his vacation. He tells the woman with the tattoo that he'll retrieve something she's looking to gain from a nearby prison, but in return he wants to know about her tattoo and its ties to a man named Arnold. He reveals the maze on the scalp in his pocket and, for the cost of one match, one pistol, and one idiot (Lawrence) she takes the odds.
6. Is Lawrence killed by the Sheriff's firing squad?

Answer: No

A stagecoach rides across Westworld carrying Lawrence and the man in black inside. A Sheriff confiscates the man's cigar case along the way, leaving him with only one exotic cigar in his pocket. He tells Lawrence that all his life he's likely been a prisoner, and this is the chance to be set free. Upon their arrival at the prison, it becomes clear that Lawrence is very much a wanted man for escaping the gallows.

The sheriff's men take him aside to be killed by firing squad while the man in black is led to his cell to meet Hector Escaton, who he's breaking out. Using cigars loaded with gunpowder, he breaks out of the cell and kills the guard before reclaiming his weapons and saving Lawrence from his fate.
7. The woman with the tattoo only has one person left to kill to fulfill her plans of revenge. What is his name?

Answer: Wyatt

Sure enough, the man in black returns with Hector and the woman with the tattoo has no choice but to give her end of the bargain. She says that masked men in devil's horns rolled into her town when she was seven, killing her family. She hunted down the men responsible afterward, using their blood to tattoo her skin, but only one man is left. His name is Wyatt.

In Sweetwater, a band of natives stalks through the center of town. Maeve watches as a toy-- a futuristic man with a mask-- falls our of a little girl's bag. She retrieves it and tries to ask about it, but she doesn't get a response. Inside the saloon, Maeve notices a member of Hector's bandit gang, and Clementine asks if that group is the one that lives out with the savages. That's when Maeve gets an idea...
8. According to Ford, his new narrative will not be which of these?

Answer: A retrospective

Bernard, spending time with Theresa, talks about stress; she has to talk to Ford the next day about the chaos he's creating with his new narrative, and with the board looming, it's weighing on her. She finds Ford out in the new expansion the next day, leading a construction crew (partly comprised of hard-working hosts) in building space for the new narrative.

He knows the board would prefer he delay his new material indefinitely. Over dinner, Theresa says it's not a place she ever felt like she'd enjoy, and she doesn't really. Ford says that Westworld isn't a theme park, and that's something her type-- the money type-- never really got.

It's a world, he claims, and he and Arnold were Gods. So while many have come and gone over the years, they've always found a way to make it work.

He lets her know that they know everything about their guests and their employees and that it would be helpful if she did not get in his way. As she gets up from the table, machinery begins to tear its way across the landscape, reshaping the land to better suit Ford's new plans.
9. Who do the man in black and Lawrence eventually find out in the desert?

Answer: Teddy

William tells Dolores to stay back while they take on their bounty. He and Logan end up going in, guns blazing, to save the family of ranchers inside, both of them feeling exhilarated in the heat of the gun battle. As would be expected, both of them are successful in shooting the place up. Later on, when bringing the bounty back to Sweetwater, they're given a better offer which Logan takes up for double the money and a fast-track to one of the park's main narratives. Logan, trying to get William to go black-hat, manages to get him to play along, at least for a little while.

Lawrence and the man and black head on alone through the desert with the former worried that they two of them would be getting themselves killed out against Wyatt's gang. Eventually they come across a body tied up to a tree to bake in the heat. It's Teddy.
10. Who helps Maeve find the bullet fragment deep inside of her?

Answer: Hector

Hector rolls into Sweetwater with his gang and a few guests for another fast-paced narrative playthrough. Despite the man in black's warning that the safe in the Mariposa wouldn't contain what they would be looking for, they go for it anyways. This time, Maeve is waiting for Hector.

She puts a gun to his neck and brings him to the safe for a talk. She says she'll give him the combo in exchange for answers. As she recites the combination, he tells her that the figure in her drawing is a 'shade'.

It's something from folklore that walks between worlds. They were sent from Hell to oversee their world. She takes his knife and tells him to cut her, right where she knows she was shot. She does it herself, and Hector reaches into the wound.

Inside, they find it. A bullet fragment. Maeve isn't crazy after all.
