1. Surgery intern Dennis Gant

Answer: Killed by the el train

Played by Omar Epps, Gant was written off in the third season during episode 59 entitled "Nightshift." It was unclear as to whether he fell into the path of the el or jumped into it.

2. Dr. Gabriel Lawrence

Answer: Retired due to Alzheimer's Disease

Alan Alda played the short-lived Dr. Lawrence character until being written off in season 6 during episode 121, "Humpty-Dumpty."

3. Dr. Abby Keaton

Answer: Moved to Pakistan

Dr. Keaton was played by Glenne Headly and supposedly left for only six months.

4. Dr. David Morgenstern

Dr. Morgenstern was played by the terrific William H. Macy.
