Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of Aeryn's former lover?

Answer: Velorek

Lt. Velorek is a Peacekeeper Tech Officer who transfers Aeryn to work under him (no pun intended). The two Peacekeepers become lovers, but Velorek feels more for Aeryn that just body chemistry. Verell is an Ilanic scientist from season one, Volmae was a pawn of the Peacekeepers in "Thank God It's Friday...Again," and Wolesh is a Scarran who appears in season three's "Incubator" episode.
2. Which of these is not true about Pilot in this episode?

Answer: Pilot was an outcast among his kind

Pilot was told by the elders that he was not ready to be bonded to a leviathan, which prompted Pilot to take Velorek up on his deal to replace another Pilot, but he was hardly an outcast, he just felt that way like all of us do from time to time. Lt. Velorek didn't have time for Pilot to naturally bond with Moya, which takes a cycle or two. Pilot has been in constant pain since the artificial splice bonded him with Moya, who did not accept him at first because she was in shock at the sudden disappearance of her original female Pilot.

When being transported to Moya, Pilot speaks in an alien tongue and Aeryn can't understand him. Lt. Velorek tells her, "He's speaking in his species' ancient language. Once sentence can carry over a hundred different facts, concepts, emotions--far too complex for our translator microbes. Once he's calmed down, once he's comfortable here, then he'll start to simplify his sentences for us."
3. Not counting the "instant replay" metaphor, what other sport does John reference?

Answer: Boxing

When everyone is confronting Aeryn about her past, John tells them, "Okay, everybody. Neutral corners. Let's chill out for a microt... we all have things in our past that we'd rather not have on instant replay." Neutral corners references boxing, when fighters had to go back to their corners.
4. Who was not a prisoner on Moya when Aeryn killed the original Pilot?

Answer: A Banik

When Aeryn says the video showing her kill the original Pilot must have been made around three cycles ago, Rygel, our resident Hynerian, says, "Three cycles isn't that long. I was aboard Moya by then." Zhaan, a Delvian, says she was as well, and is even seen in one of Aeryn's flashbacks being escorted in handcuffs down Moya's corridors.

A Sheyang is seen in the corridor during this flashback as well. Baniks are a slave race that Stark belongs too, but no mention of them being captive aboard Moya is mentioned.
5. Aeryn says her relationships when she was a Peacekeeper were what?

Answer: Painful

Aeryn tells John that "Peacekeepers are bred and reared, for one purpose...
military service. Procreation is assigned. There's no such thing as a life long mate." Peacekeepers are allowed to have as many relationships as they wanted and as often as they wanted, as High Command knew the troop's "biological needs." But, she continues, "You don't connect with anyone openly, and never with any longevity. I guess the point is... my relationships back then tended to be somewhat..." John finishes for her, saying, "Empty?" Aeryn replies, "Painful."
6. Who shows Pilot the recording of Aeryn killing the original Pilot?

Answer: Rygel

Rygel shows it to Pilot, even though D'Argo hid it so Pilot would never find out the truth. Rygel says it was his ethical duty, while Chiana says he only did it so Pilot would owe him one.
7. What was the goal of the project Crais was in charge of?

Answer: To breed a warship

The goal, as we find out, was to breed warships, leviathan warships to be exact, ones with weapons. Crais's plan never worked, that is until D'Argo accidently knocked off the shield (seen in season one's "They've Got a Secret")that Lt. Velorek placed on Moya to keep Crais's plan from succeeding. Apparently the key to Moya giving birth to a gunship was her being free from the control collar. Talyn, Moya's baby, not only had guns, but didn't need a pilot as well so it can respond to direct commands of a Peacekeeper commander.
8. What cartoon does John reference?

Answer: Peanuts

John, trying to reach an angry Pilot, says, "Pilot, we have to talk. Let's hash this out. Right here. Right now. Five cents, the Doctor is in." This refers to Lucy from the Peanuts comic strip and cartoon movies who had a booth where she would dispense psychiatric help, usually to Charlie Brown, for five cents.
9. What nursery rhyme did John mention in this episode?

Answer: Rub-a-dub-dub

John tells the others, "Kids, save it for after school. Right now, how do we fix this thing so we stop bobbing about like three men in a tub?" Moya is the tub just floating in space as Pilot has turned off the power and has left them all to just drift until Aeryn is off the ship.
10. What famous toy does John reference in this episode?

Answer: Etch-A-Sketch

When Aeryn insists on talking to a very angry Pilot, John says, "Aeryn. No, no, no, no. Pilot's Etch-A-Sketch isn't operating with all it's knobs right now." Etch-A-Sketch is a popular drawing toy where you use knobs to draw and can shake away when you're done.
