Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these films was Elaine and her friend, Todd Gack, forced to see after they couldn't get into "Means To An End" in the episode, "The Calzone"?

Answer: Blame It On The Rain

Elaine and Todd ran into Jerry and his girlfriend-of-the-moment, Nikki, while waiting in line for the movie, and she explained that "Means To An End" was sold out. Jerry then turned to his gorgeous girlfriend and asked her to see what she could do. She came back moments later with two tickets for "Means To An End".

He relays the story to George later on, explaining that Nikki can use her good-looks to get whatever she wants. George replies, "Beautiful women. You know they could get away with murder. You never see any of them lift anything over three pounds.

They get whatever they want whenever they want it. You can't stop them."
2. Which film did Kramer's friend, Brody, force Jerry to videotape at gunpoint?

Answer: Death Blow

"Death Blow! When someone tries to blow you up; not because of who you are, but for different reasons altogether!" Kramer tells us is the tagline for this movie. Brody is a bootlegger, illegally videotaping movies in theaters and making copies of them for sale on the street. Brody, Kramer, and Jerry are watching the movie, and after a little while, Brody has to leave to go home. (He'd eaten too much candy and was having stomach cramps).

He asked Jerry to take over taping for him, and at first Jerry said not a chance, but when he saw the gun Brody was carrying, he decided to comply. Funnily enough, Jerry turned out to be quite adept at videotaping movies. Brody came over to Jerry's apartment later to tell him, "I've never seen such beautiful work. You're a genius.

The zoom-ins, the framing. I was enchanted."
3. Which of these movies does Kramer suggest that George has selected when he was trying to dial Moviefone?

Answer: Agent Zero

From the episode, "The Pool Guy". Kramer gets his phone number changed because of "...chicks man. Too many chicks know my number." His number is changed to 555-3455, but this drives him even more crazy because he keeps getting wrong number calls every five minutes. Jerry deduces that 555-3455 is 555-FILK, which by itself is nothing, but 555-FILM is Moviefone, and is just one digit off from Kramer's number. People are calling to get Moviefone and are dialing Kramer's number by mistake.

At first this annoys him, but then he decides he kind of likes "helping out" Moviefone by looking up movie showtimes for the people that are calling him. George ends up calling Moviefone and getting Kramer by mistake. Kramer instructs George in his best Moviefone voice, "Using your touch-tone keypad, please enter the first three letters of the movie title, now." George enters C-H-U for "Chunnel", the movie he's looking for.

But of course Kramer has no idea what he pressed since he's just on his regular home phone; he just hears the buttons being pressed. So, Kramer just guesses that George has selected "Agent Zero", and tells him to press 1 if that is correct.

When the button isn't pushed, Kramer guesses another movie. When he's wrong again, he just says, "Why don't you just tell me the name of the movie you've selected?"
4. Which movie did Elaine prefer to see over "The English Patient"?

Answer: Sack Lunch

This is from the episode also entitled "The English Patient". Elaine is on a date with Blaine at the movies, and they're trying to decide what movie to see. Elaine sees a poster for "Sack Lunch" and suggests that one. Blaine suggests "The English Patient", but Elaine isn't really all that interested.

She says to him, "Oh, c'mon Blaine. I mean, look at the poster for 'Sack Lunch.' Don't you want to know how they got in there?" When they get to the front of the line, they see that "Sack Lunch" is sold out, and do in fact see "The English Patient". Elaine is seemingly the only person in the world that actually doesn't like the movie, and it ostracizes her from her friends, and even ends up costing her her job. All because she didn't like "The English Patient".

As Elaine very correctly puts it, "It's just a stupid movie." (Not that I think it's a stupid movie, but that it's stupid to hate someone because they don't like it.)
5. Which of these titles was Elaine "DYING!" to see on a big screen in the episode, "The Movie"?

Answer: Checkmate

The gang were all trying to meet up for a night at the movies, and one thing after another went wrong, preventing them from all hooking up at the same time at the same theater to watch the same movie. From George losing his ticket stubs to Elaine losing her seat when coming back from the concession stand, nothing was going to go right this night.
6. Which movie were Jerry and George planning on seeing in the episode, "The Engagement?"

Answer: Firestorm

Jerry came by to pick George up to go to the movies, but then discovered that George wasn't going to be able to go because Susan, his new fiancée, wanted to see "The Muted Heart", a dramatic chick flick starring Glenn Close and Sally Field.
7. This was a movie Kramer rented from Champagne Video about a woman in a coma.

Answer: The Other Side of Darkness

From the episode, "The Comeback". After Kramer had seen most of the movie, he started to become worried about what would happen if he were to ever end up in a coma. So, after careful deliberation, he wrote out a document on the "Z" page of Jerry's address book stating that in the even he were in a coma, "he wanted Jerry to remove my life support, feeding machine, lung-blower, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera."
8. "The Pain and the Yearning" is about a woman that experiences pain and yearning.

Answer: True

Also from the "The Comeback" episode. Elaine likes to rent from the employees picks shelf at Champagne Video, and is a big fan of the picks of an employee named Vincent. "The Pain and the Yearning" is a video he had "picked", and Elaine was thinking about renting it.

She read the back of the video to see what it was about, and it said, "an old woman experiences pain and yearning". After deciding that she couldn't handle another emotionally exhausting film, she went with "Weekend at Bernie's II".
9. Which of these actors supposedly starred in "The Other Side of Darkeness" as "the husband"?

Answer: Eric Roberts

George asks Kramer "how was Eric Roberts as the husband?", to which Kramer replied, "oh, unforgettable."
10. Which actor was the star of "Firestorm"?

Answer: Harrison Ford

This was the film George had wanted to see with Jerry, but had to see "The Muted Heart" with Susan instead. As George and Susan were standing in the theater lobby after their movie, Jerry came out with another moviegoer talking about the film, and was saying, "How about when Harrison Ford jumped out of that plane, and he was shooting back at them as he was falling?" The other moviegoer (played by comedian Mario Joyner) said, "What about that underwater escape?" Jerry: "Oh, man!"
