Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which American television star of the '60's hit comedy "I Dream of Jeannie" went on to star in the '80's hit primetime soap "Dallas"?

Answer: Larry Hagman

Larry Hagman played Captain (later Major) Anthony "Tony" Nelson on "I Dream of Jeannie" and J. R. Ewing on "Dallas." His mother was Mary Martin, Broadway actress, and his father was District Attorney Benjamin Jack Hagman. On "Dallas," Hagman participated in one of the greatest season ending cliffhangers of all time--he was shot in the closing seconds of the last episode.

The next season began with one of the most watched TV episodes of all time as viewers tuned in to see "Who shot J.R.?"

6. In the television series "Lost", where did Oceanic Flight 815 crash?

Answer: an unnamed island in the Pacific Ocean

The flight was going from Sydney (Australia) to Los Angeles (USA), but was pulled off course and was heading toward Fiji when it crashed. The island had been inhabited by a research group called the Dharma Initiative, and also had a group known as "The Others" who lived there. Surprisingly, given the intent of these populations to live there indefinitely, no one seems to have given the island an official name through the first five seasons.

8. "Oh sir, just one more thing..." What breed of dog was owned by that bumbling but brilliant TV cop Columbo?

Answer: Basset Hound

Lt. Columbo was a homicide detective played by Peter Falk in a long number of TV shows from 1968 to 2003. The disheveled detective usually lulled the chief suspect into a false sense of security, and almost always got his man, or woman. In the episode "Etude In Black" (1972), Columbo found the Basset Hound in a dog pound and adopted him.

After much debate, he finally named his new pal "Dog". The unattainable hound was usually seen lolling about in Columbo's car and was noted for his love of ice cream.
