Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As seen in "Fine Feathered Funny-Man", what network did "Garfield and Friends" air on?

Answer: CSB

No, that's not a typo.

When "The Network" called Roy in because of a complaint received from a Mrs. Edna W. Outraged, they gave him an ultimatum: stop the practical jokes or leave the show. Roy couldn't resist pranking his friends for more than five minutes, but it was all revealed to be a practical joke on Roy by Orson and Wade. Roy did not appreciate having the tables turned on him.
2. When Garfield was part of a comedy duo, what was the name of the cat he replaced?

Answer: Buddy

Buddy left the team when he realized they were never going to be stars; after all, the only fan they ever had was Jon. When "The Ed Solomon Show" called, desperate for an act, Jon agreed to let Garfield be the "and His Cat" part of "Jackie Melman and His Cat". Garfield didn't do any of the tricks Jackie told him to, which the audience saw as a brilliant comedy act. Jackie got rid of Garfield shortly thereafter, dooming himself to obscurity.
3. Which of these was NOT one of the things Wade confessed to doing when Orson and Bo were looking for a cow thief?

Answer: Leaning over on a Tuesday

Wade confessed to everything short of stealing the cow, which meant that Orson had wasted his time. Fortunately, Orson quickly discovered that it was actually Roy who stole the cow, which he really should have known all along, as that was exactly the sort of thing Roy would do.
4. Which of these was NOT one of the things Mack Sennett tried hitting his lead actor in the face with before his cat hit him with a cream pie?

Answer: A steak

This happy accident spawned the first comedy film. Cats were also responsible for inventing the motion picture and the video rental store.
5. What was Floyd's wife's name?

Answer: April

When Jon's horrible Aunt Prunella decided to stay over for a few months, it was up to Garfield to get rid of her. (Isn't it always?) As it turned out, the only thing that bothered her was mice, so Garfield got Floyd to run around a bit. Jon got Aunt Prunella to leave, and Floyd got to appear on the show more than once that season.
6. What was the name of MeowTV's VJ?

Answer: Skinny Catnip

MeowTV was the only music video network for cats. In addition to "The Garfield Rap", which was featured in the episode of the same name, the channel has also featured the video for "(Ain't Gonna Be Your) Scratchin' Post" by Tina and the Tabbies.

"The Garfield Rap" is a fantastic parody of old-school rap and features a large number of references to other famous music videos.
7. Which of these was NOT one of the reasons Paul Revere's duck told the night watchman to hang six lanterns in the Old North Church?

Answer: If the British invade by canoe

Everyone knows the famous Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem, right? In case you don't, here is a transcript:

One if by land,
Two if by sea,
Three if they swing from a vine on a tree,
Four if the British invade us by plane,
Five if they come on a skateboard or train,
Six if by camel, by bus, or by rail,
Seven if sent here by overnight mail,
Eight if they swim underwater like shrimp,
Nine if they get here by zeppelin or blimp,
Ten if by skiing,
Eleven by van,
Twelve with the pizza delivery man,
Thirteen by rowboat, a yacht, or canoe,
Fourteen if hopping here by kangaroo.
8. Who lives at 1422 Playa del Sol?

Answer: The only Venezuelan dry cleaner named Al

This was another question on Roy's game show "You Can't Win". Indeed, nobody did win until an alien gave Orson the power to read minds. He then was able to know the answers before Roy even asked the questions.
9. Which comedy film was showing at the Bijou Theater, located next to the frozen yogurt shop?

Answer: Who's Minding the Mint?

This was a 1967 caper comedy with a large cast of colorful characters. While the stars were Jim Hutton and Dorothy Provine, the film featured an ensemble of famous actors, including Milton Berle, Joey Bishop, Bob Denver, Walter Brennan, Victor Buono, and Jack Gilford.

The theater was also showing "Power Pig". A bizarre double feature if I do say so myself.
10. Finish the title of the self-help video: "How to Be Your Own Best Friend and _____ _____ _____"

Answer: Loan Yourself Money

Garfield went to the self-help section of the video store to find something to convince Jon not to plan another horrible vacation. In addition to "Vacationing: A Waste of Time", the store also had the popular "Aerobics for People Named Murray".
