Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Charlie Brown is noted for two features. One is his sweater with the oversized tooth pattern which he almost always wears. The other is something that he was often teased about. Which one is it?

Answer: His large head

His sister is Sally, three years younger than Charlie; Snoopy is indeed his dog, and his favorite baseball player is Joe Schalbotnik. But it's his oversized head that he is tormented for: "Is that the Moon? No, it's just Charlie Brown's head!" It's also mentioned in "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!".
2. The most important date in history to Schroeder is which of the following?

Answer: December 16th, Beethoven's birthday

Although he never misses a game of baseball as Charlie Brown's catcher and the Christmas pageant is legendary for his performances, for Schroeder, Ludwig van Beethoven's birthday is the day around which all others are measured. The actual date is somewhat a mystery, but this is the date Schroeder celebrates.
3. The Browns have two children and the van Pelts have three; what are their names?

Answer: Charlie, Sally, Lucy, Linus and Rerun

Patty is Peppermint Patty, a real tom-boy who probably has a crush on Charlie. Marcie is Patty's bespectacled friend who always calls her 'sir'. Woodstock is Snoopy's bird friend and Snoopy is Charlie's dog.
4. Schroeder is known for his piano, Lucy for her doctor's office and Frieda for her natural curly hair. Who is the character known for raising a cloud of dust where ever he goes?

Answer: Pigpen

Pigpen has even been drawn attracting dust and dirt to himself when standing absolutely still and all cleaned up! Franklin is the African-American character and the other two are not "PEANUTS" characters.
5. Snoopy and his brother Spike were born where?

Answer: Daisy Hill Puppy Farm

Snoopy and Spike were born at the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm. The other three names are never mentioned in "PEANUTS". No one should frequent a puppy mill, please have your pets spayed and/or neutered to decrease the number of unwanted puppies or kittens in the world.
6. Snoopy and Spike both have imaginary roles in World War One. What are those roles?

Answer: Pilot and doughboy

Snoopy fights in the skies against the 'Red Baron' while Spike slugs it out in the trenches as a common American foot soldier or doughboy.
7. What type of plane does Snoopy's doghouse become?

Answer: Sopwith Camel

The doghouse becomes a Sopwith Camel with British roundels for markings and is always shot down, when Snoopy is being a WWI flying ace. The Fokker triplane was the 'Red Baron's' best known plane, the S.P.A.D. XIII was flown by America's ace of aces, Eddie Rickenbacher. The S.E.5a was flown by several high ranking British and Imperial aces.
8. When Snoopy comes back from his flights, he relaxes by quaffing what drink?

Answer: Root beer

Snoopy always asks the French barmaid for root beer. Champagne and cognac are both French drinks, one a wine and the other a fortified wine. The French 75 is a mixed drink named after an artillery piece used with great effect during the war.
9. Charlie Brown has a crush on her. Will he ever build up the nerve to tell her? Who is she?

Answer: The little red-haired girl

We have never seen the little red-haired girl and perhaps it's just as well. Our imagination can be like Charlie's and we can picture her the way we wish. Lucy serves as his psychiatrist (at a nickel a session), Peppermint Patty is his equal in all things sports related and Marcie has admitted she likes him, but his heart belongs to another.
10. No "PEANUTS" quiz would be complete without mentioning the Great Pumpkin! What is the major criteria for his selection of a pumpkin patch to raise from?

Answer: It has to be the sincerest pumpkin patch in the world

According to Linus it has to be the sincerest pumpkin patch in the world. Sally Brown isn't convinced it's for real but since it Linus happy, she goes along until she realizes that she gave up an evening of getting candy, then 'hell hath no fury like a woman scorned', or a woman missing her candy! Better luck next year, Linus!
