Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Fidelity" - "A patient comes to us because she's sleeping sixteen hours a day and it takes ten doctors and a coma ____________."

Answer: To diagnose sleeping sickness

In this episode, House and his team treat a woman with an extremely rare condition known as African Sleeping Sickness. House's usual disgust with missing an obvious diagnosis is the above quote.
2. "The Socratic Method" - "And if it wasn't for that raving untreated schizophrenic Socrates, we wouldn't have the Socratic Method, the best way of teaching everything - apart from ___________."

Answer: Juggling chainsaws

In this episode, House is fascinated by the workings of the mind of a supposedly schizophrenic woman in her late thirties, who turns out to have a rare condition known as Wilson's Disease. This is a genetic condition where the body accumulates too much copper.

This quote comes in the middle of a conversation between House and Wilson, who are discussing the advances in the treatment of schizophrenia over the centuries.
3. "The Mistake" - "Chase loves me...__________."

Answer: And isn't Turkish

In this episode, chaos ensues when Chase makes a mistake that causes the death of a female patient. It later transpires that he made the mistake because he was distracted due to the unexpected death of his father from lung cancer. He and House both have to make an appearance before a disciplinary board, where Chase is given a week's suspension and House is put under Foreman's supervision for a month.

This particular quote also comes from a conversation between Wilson and House. House is responding to Wilson's suggestion that Chase might turn him in to save his own skin.

The Turkish remark is because Wilson makes his point in a dreadful imitation of an Australian accent.
4. "Spin" - "Green for food, orange for beverages, red for __________."

Answer: Impure thoughts

House treats a cyclist suffering from unexplained respiratory arrest in this episode. He expects to be routine, but there is a twist in that the cyclist admits to taking drugs. This ends up being crucial to diagnosing his underlying condition. This particular House-ism is from a scene between Wilson and House in the cafeteria.

[House walks into the cafeteria, spots Wilson and grabs a bag of potato chips off his tray.]

Wilson: "Is there a light somewhere that goes on when I have food?"
House: "Green for food, orange for beverages, red for impure thoughts. That bulb burns out every two weeks."
5. "Airborne" - "Give her 20 milligrams of anti-histamine. It could save her life. _____________."

Answer: Because if she doesn't shut up, I'll kill her

This is one of the most exciting episodes of House. Travelling back from a conference in Singapore, the plane that House and Cuddy are on is threatened by an apparent epidemic, and House must use all his diagnostic skill to discover the problem without any of his usual equipment.

This acerbic comment comes as they are boarding the airplane, when House snaps at a young mother carrying a young child who is crying incessantly.
6. "Fools for Love" - "Yes, it keeps me up at night. That and the Loch Ness Monster, global warming, evolution and ___________."

Answer: Other fictional concepts

In this episode, House treats a young married couple whose ties go even deeper than it appears on the surface. On a more trivial note, House also becomes obsessed with Wilson's love life and becomes convinced that he is secretly dating a new nurse at the hospital. The quote comes from a conversation between House and Wilson when House confronts him about the 'relationship'.

Wilson: "Your real fear is me having a good relationship."
House: "Yes, it keeps me up at night. That and the Loch Ness Monster, global warming, evolution and other fictional concepts."
7. "Son of a Coma Guy" - "House's house of whining. ____________."

Answer: State your complaint

As the title suggests, the patient in this episode is the son of a coma guy. Actually, he is a vegetative state guy whom House wakes up in order to get a complete family history so as to diagnose the son. However, the man shows little interest in his son and insists on driving to Atlantic city to get a sandwich. House and Wilson accompany him, which makes for an uncomfortable journey, as Wilson is still furious with House for forging his signature on prescriptions for Vicodin.

This particular remark is made as House answers his cell phone just after Wilson tells him that he should stop complaining.
8. "Family" - "Oh no, I left my door open. My dog must have run out into the street. ___________________."

Answer: I hope he didn't get hit by a car or a bus or an anvil

In this episode, House and his team race to find out what's killing a young boy who is meant to be donating bone marrow to his brother who is dying of leukemia. On a side note, House has taken in Wilson's dog, called Hector, who turns out to be vicious in personality with a predilection for chewing things. House makes many attempts throughout the episode to get rid of Hector, one of which is leaving the door of his apartment open in the hope that Hector will run away.

However, Hector does no such thing and is still there when House returns home.
9. "Finding Judas" - "This baby won me second place in ______________."

Answer: The clinic's weekly 'weirdest thing pulled out of an orifice' competition

In this episode, House and his team treat a little girl who turns out to have a very rare condition which means that she is allergic to light. This particular scene is just after House embarrasses Cuddy (who was in a meeting with benefactors) by aiming a laser pointer at her forehead, among other places. The 'baby' referred to in the quote is the laser pointer.

House: "This baby won me second place in the clinic's weekly 'weirdest thing pulled out of an orifice' competition."
Cuddy: "I am *this* close to putting a new lab in oncology."
House: "You do not want to know what came in first."
Cuddy: "House..."
House: "Rhymes with 'fucchini'."
10. "Failure to Communicate" - "You know, Stacy in the original Greek means '____________'.

Answer: Relationship killer

In this episode, House has a challenge as he attempts to diagnose a patient over the phone when his plane is grounded in Baltimore due to weather conditions. While he is there, he reconnects with Stacy, his ex-partner who is now remarried, and they must come to terms with their feelings. This House-ism comes during a conversation between Stacy and House, where she voices her fears that her husband is pushing her away.
