"He is My Master" is an anime with completely different story... but the title seems like one that would be for that description.

"Hand Maid May" is about an android maid, but at no point does it save the main character's life.

"Full Moon wo Sagashite", and "Lovely Idol" are both singing animes, that have a theme of love thrown in, kind of like "Mermaid Melody".

"Sailor Moon" is like "Mermaid Melody" in the fact that both involve transformations to reach their full potential, but "Mermaid Melody" involves defeating the enemy through song.

Answer: "Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni"

Each of the animes I chose to be in this list are common, but not in theme.

Each of these animes has a main character voiced by the same voice actress, Yukari Tamura.

Answer: "Katekyoshi Hitman Reborn"

In "Katekyoshi Hitman Reborn", the one who comes to tutor Tsunayoshi Sawada is named Reborn. Not much is known about his routes, other than he was sent from Italy to train Tsuna to become the Vongola mob's 10th boss.

The main character, Mizuho Miyanokouji, is feminine enough that he passes as a woman very easily. After some short work with makeup, from his best friend, Mariya, he's dolled up and ready to go.

The girl who is running away is named Index. She eventually meets up with a boy named Touma, who has a unique ability to negate all spells or esper abilities of anything in which is right hand touches.

The girl described above is Lina Inverse. She travels around with her protector, Gourry Gabriev. The sword she wants is the Sword of Light. A magical sword that is said to enhance magical abilities. Lina's main spell that she uses, and her most popular is the Dragon Slave, a spell that falls under the realm of the Dark Lord, Shabranigdo.

All of the choices are from similar, magic based animes.

The main character, Tomoya Okazaki was the one that had these thoughts. On his way to school one day, he meets Nagisa Furukawa. She is standing at the bottom of the hill leading to his school, looking quite frightened, and they start talking.

The main character's name is Kanako Miyamae. She transfers over to the all-girls school that her mother went to, Ame no Kisaki, in hopes of finding a yuri partner. But the only person she manages to grow a relation with, and a bad one at that, is Maria whom is a boy, cross-dressing as a girl.

The demon described is Neuro. He meets a girl named Yako Katsuragi, whose father died in a "locked room" incident. A "locked room" incident, is a death in which seems like a murder, but since it is in a locked room, there is nothing that can point to being as such. He decides to force Yako to be his detective "helper" and they open a detective agency.
