Her shoes are hot pink pumps, to be exact. You can see them when she comes out of a bathroom stall and starts talking to Beth and Debby. Debby makes a snide comment to Beth after she leaves - "She's wearing pink shoes.", as if that was something really bad, after she scolds Beth for congratulating Carol Ann on her recent engagement.

It is obvious that Debby doesn't think much of Carol Ann.

Beth and Debby discuss what they are going to order while in the ladies room, But once they sit down at the bar, Beth becomes flirty with Bobby, the bartender, and orders the original planned drink order for Debby, but tells Bobby that she feels like something sweet and wants a Sex on the Beach for herself. This ticks Debby off and the two friends gets into an argument over it.

Rick is the new cute guy at the bar who Beth and Debby have never seen before. They decide he has "Patrick Swayze eyes", but Debby also seems a little intimidated and thinks he looks like trouble. She soon changes her tune, however, after she gets into a tiff with Beth, leaves the bar, and Rick strikes up a conversation with her outside.

The next day she makes up with Beth and tells her that Patrick Swayze Eyes walked right up her and started talking to her, like that is Rick's name.

Debby is irritated that her mother has a new boyfriend. When she goes into her mother's workplace with Beth and Amber Autumn to eat breakfast, she gives her mother a hard time. Deb makes very picky order and tells Virginia to bring them another ketchup bottle so that they all don't have to share the same one. Heaven forbid three people would have to share!

Debby is so unsure of herself that she can't seem to make a drink order or pick a song on her own. She gets flustered when Rick enters the bar and doesn't notice her, so she has to find a way to draw attention to herself. We see Deb looking at this when she is at work after she becomes somewhat obsessed with Rick. One of her co-workers asks her what she is looking at and she replies "A JC Penney catalog". We can see that she has the biggest ring on the page circled boldly and when questioned, she tells her co-workers that the one she has circled has class.

Beth talks to Debby about when Amber Autumn's father proposed to her in high school. She says that she was working at the Pants Palace and he waited in line at the checkout to give her a ring. Beth does mention how afterwards, he said that he was hungry and wanted to go to Sbarro's. It is clear that Beth is reminiscing a little and expressing some regret about the past.

After Debby spends the night at Rick's house, she really wants to make breakfast for him, but he has stuff to do and we begin to see that he is not really interested in Debby. He tries to politely let her down. She tries to shrug it off and offers to make him dinner on Wednesday night, to which he reluctantly agrees.

She writes down her address along with the date and time and as she hands it to Rick, she says "Filet mignon." Later, we see her making it and she calls Beth to come over and help her. Beth does this, then returns home to her daughter, who asks if Debby made the Filet mignon. Beth tells her that she is making it right now.

While Debby is making dinner at home, only to be stood up by her date, her mother is on a date of her own with Nick. We see the two dancing together and discussing possible future plans. Virginia asks what town Nick wants to move to with her and he tells her Jacksonville.

She says that in the back of the diner where she works, there is a big map and she is going to look up Jacksonville, Florida.
