The physical challenge was part of the question part of the show for teams that did not know the answer, or just wanted to play the game.
3. A team on "Double Dare" who was dared to answer a question, but did not know the answer, or chose not to answer, had what option in the game?

Answer: Double dare the other team

In "Double Dare", one team was asked a question. If they did not know the answer, or thought the other team didn't know, they could dare the other team to answer. The other team then needed to answer the question or double dare the original team. The original team could then answer the question or take the physical challenge. "Super Sloppy Double Dare" was a generally messier version of the original show. "Family Double Dare" added two extra team members per team and allowed parents and other family members to play the game. "Double Dare 2000" was the revival of the show in 2000. There was no "Double Dare Challenge".

Surprisingly, there never was a balance beam.
6. "On your mark, get set ... GO!" was the tagline to start the show. Who coined that phrase as the first host of "Double Dare"?

Answer: Marc Summers

Marc Summers hosted "Double Dare" and "Super Sloppy Double Dare". He later hosted other shows including "Couch Potatoes" and "What Would You Do?" Jason Harris hosted "Double Dare 2000". J.D. Roth hosted a number of other children's game shows around the same time, including "Fun House" and "Endurance". Bob Barker was the legendary host of "The Price is Right", among other shows.
7. One of the obstacles on "Double Dare" involved a large foot that was covered in gak. What was this obstacle called?

Answer: Toejam

Toejam was the obstacle that involved a large foot with the flag typically hidden in the gak-filled gaps between the toes. Luckily for the contestants, the foot was odorless.
8. Retrieving the flag was the critical step for each obstacle on "Double Dare" as that indicated the obstacle was over, won the team the prize for that obstacle and allowed them to go on to the next obstacle. What color were the flags?

Answer: Orange

The flags were orange. Red and blue were the dominant colors of "Double Dare" and "Super Sloppy Double Dare" as they were used for the logo and team uniforms, but not the flags. Yellow became the dominant color and logo for "Family Double Dare", but the obstacle course flags were still orange.
9. The Tank was a favorite obstacle on "Double Dare" and got filled with a variety of substances over the years. Which substance was not used?

Answer: Jelly beans

The Tank was a large rectangular glass structure that was a classic obstacle from the first season. A contestant needed to climb the stairs on one side, jump into the tank and make their way to a flag on the other side. The tank was typically filled with packaging peanuts or balloons in the early years, but progressed to water, a "milk like substance", whipped cream and even jello in the messier years.
10. The version of "Family Double Dare" that aired on FOX had a unique twist to one obstacle. The seventh obstacle always rewarded what prize?

Answer: Cash

The seventh obstacle on the FOX version of "Family Double Dare" always rewarded cash. The unique twist was that the cash prize increased for each week the prize was not won. Alas, the FOX version of "Family Double Dare" only lasted 13 weeks in mid 1988.
