Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In general, if a contestant mispells a word in "Final Jeopardy!" but their response is otherwise correct, the response will be accepted.

Answer: True

As long as it is clear what the contestant intended to write, and the response is in the form of a question, it will be accepted.
2. The contestants are given the topic which the answer will pertain to before they must make their wager for "Final Jeopardy!".

Answer: True

Alex will announce the topic to the contestants and then ask them to place their wagers. The television show will pause for commercial and when it returns, the "Final Jeopardy!" answer is revealed. The contestants then get 30 seconds to come up with their response while the audience gets to listen to that famous tune.
3. By the end of the 17th season (2001-2002), all of the following celebrities had competed on "Jeopardy!" EXCEPT for whom?

Answer: Michael Jackson

The other three celebrities listed have all competed on "Jeopardy!" and have helped in contributing millions of dollars to charity.
4. What is the name given to the team of people that have been hired to span the globe to come up with new and interesting facts to be used on "Jeopardy!"?

Answer: "Clue Crew"

The "Clue Crew" was first created during the 17th season (2001-2002) and have been brought back for the 18th season to continue their work of travelling around the world to discover new and interesting clues which are the basis for the answers on "Jeopardy!". You can check out these four people on www.jeopardy.com. Once on the homepage, just click on "Clue Crew".
5. NOT including the monitors at the top of the board which reveal the categories, how many monitors are there on the "Jeopardy!" board?

Answer: 30

There are 30 monitors, six across and five down. Before the round begins, Alex reveals the six categories across the top of the board. Then a dollar amount appears on each of the 30 monitors. Once the round begins, the contestant who has control of the board requests a topic for a certain dollar amount and that answer is then revealed.
6. Once the answer has been revealed in "Final Jeopardy!", how long do the contestants have to write down their response?

Answer: 30 seconds

Again, the contestants have 30 seconds to write down their response. At the end of thirty seconds, their pens automatically shut off so they cannot squeeze in extra words.
7. Lucky number 7: How many times must a contestant win in a row to be considered a five-time champion?

Answer: 5

Come on now! That was a freebie! All FIVE-time champions get to return later in the season for the "Tournament of Champions".
8. The original announcer for "Jeopardy!" was Rod Roddy.

Answer: False

The original announcer for the show was Don Pardo. Much thanks to player eddiejoe for this information! Rod Roddy was the announcer for "The Price is Right" for many years.
9. Who was the original host of "Jeopardy!" when it first aired on television in 1964?

Answer: Art Fleming

Art Fleming was the original host of "Jeopardy!" in 1964. The other three names must look awfully familiar too. They have all been hosts of various successful television game shows at one time or another. Check out the mixed game show subcategory and their names are sure to come up.
10. Now it is your turn. You've considered the topic, you've made your wager and it's time for "Final Jeopardy!" Don't let the music distract you. This man created the television show "Jeopardy!"

Answer: Who is Merv Griffin?

He created the show in 1964. This should have been an easy question if you have played my first quiz titled "This is Jeopardy!" as it is the only repeat question throughout the three quiz series. The second quiz in the series is titled, "Let's Play, Double Jeopardy!".
