1. When money values were doubled on November 26, 2001, what is the most amount of money one person could theoretically win in one single game of "Jeopardy!"?

Answer: $566,400

In order to accomplish this feat, a contestant would have to ring in first and answer correctly on every question. They also would have to hit the "Daily Double" in the first round on the last question and it would have to be in a $200 spot. They would also have to hit both "Daily Doubles" in the second round, and they would have to appear as the last two questions in the $400 spots.

Then they would have to bet all their money on in the "Final Jeopardy" round.
2. Who hosted "Jeopardy!" before Alex Trebek?

Answer: Art Fleming

Art Fleming started out as an actor at the age of four. He was mainly a stunt double for well-known actors. When approached to be the host of "Jeopardy!", he was skeptical because he had never done anything like hosting before. His agent encouraged him to take the job and said "Just act like a game show host".
3. In "Final Jeopardy!", what is the title of the music that plays during the thirty seconds that the contestants have to write down their answers?

Answer: "Think"

"Think" is the most well-known music on the "Jeopardy!" game show. It was created by Merv Griffin as was originally a lullaby called "A Time for Tony". Merv wrote it for his son.
4. Every one knows that "Jeopardy!" was created by Merv Griffin, but who actually came up with the original idea for the game show?

Answer: Julann Griffin

On an airplane, Merv and his wife Julann were discussing ideas for a question and answer type of game show when Julann suggested switching the the idea to giving the answer first and have the contestant figure out the question. She said to Merv "5280". Merv answered with "How many feet in a mile?". The rest is history.
5. "Jeopardy!" first aired in 1964. In what year did the original version of "Jeopardy!" end?

Answer: 1975

The original "Jeopardy!" ran from March 30, 1964, and aired until January 3, 1975. The dollar amounts back then were a lot less than they are today. In the first round, the dollar amounts per category went: $10, $20, $30, $40, and $50. The second round dollar amounts per category went: $20, $40, $60, $80, and $100.
6. When is it possible for a contestant to play "Final Jeopardy!" when the contestant has zero dollars or negative dollars?

Answer: When the contestant is a celebrity playing for charity.

On "Celebrity Jeopardy!", if a contestant has zero or negative dollars after two rounds, they are given $1,000 to play the final round.
7. When is a contestant allowed to 'buzz in' when they think they know the correct answer?

Answer: When the host finishes reading the entire question.

The contestants cannot buzz in before the host finishes reading the question because faster readers would have an unfair advantage. Also, it keeps contestants from jumping the gun and claiming the question even before anyone can begin to read it.
8. Who was the announcer when Alex Trebek started?

Answer: Johnny Gilbert

In 1963, Gilbert was picked as the announcer for "The Price is Right" with host Bill Cullen. From 1974 until 1980, he was the announcer for the "Dinah Shore Show". In 1984 he became the announcer for "Jeopardy!".
9. If a contestant finds a "Daily Double" in the first round what must the contestant do in order to make it a 'true' "Daily Double"?

Answer: Bet all the money they have won thus far.

In the first round if a player has less than $1,000 dollars or negative dollars, they are still able to bet at least $1,000 if they wish. True "Daily Doubles" can only be 'true' if you bet all of your money. If you Have $600 dollars and bet $600, it's still a 'true' "Daily Double" but you could have bet $1,000.
10. When a category is about types of alcoholic beverages, what title does "Jeopardy!" usually give to the category?

Answer: Potent Potables

'Potent', meaning something having great power, influence, or effect, combined with 'potable', meaning safe to drink or drinkable.
