She said her middle name was Marlene in the first season episode "Slumber Party". It was a (rather lame) question that Donna asked her while playing Skeletons in the Closet.

She was always trying to analyse situations and apply her psych classes to everybody's lives, notably when Mel and Jackie were separating, when Donna and David were fighting, and when David was taking drugs.

Dylan wanted to take her on a trip around the world, and Brandon asked her to marry him. They pressured her to choose and she said "I choose me!" Later she wanted to continue her relationship with Brandon but he was still angry about her rejecting him. They got back together much later on.

Kelly returned to Beverly Hills from New York at the beginning of season six and brought Colin back with her. He proved to be a bad choice for Kelly, as he got her addicted to cocaine. Kelly dated Matt, a lawyer, later in the series, and Jake (a crossover character from "Melrose Place") was her brief love interest before Dylan, earlier in the series. Joe was one of Donna's boyfriends.

Kelly began working at an AIDS hospice in the seventh season, for summer school credits. She needed the extra credit because she had missed most of the previous semester due to being in rehab. At the hospice, she became friendly with a patient, Jimmy. Unfortunately Jimmy died after Kelly's volunteer job ended.

In season five, Kelly was trapped in the basement of an abandoned house where Steve threw a rave when the house caught fire. She wasn't seriously injured, but suffered burn scars on her face and all of her body, leading her to think that Brandon only pitied her, not loved her, and caused her to worry she would never get her looks back.

Kelly found out she was pregnant towards the end of the seventh season, after she and Brandon got back together, in the episode "Mother's Day". She was leaning towards having an abortion, but then she miscarried. When she went to her doctor to see about going on birth control, her doctor ran tests and found out that Kelly had a fertility problem and conceiving in the future would be very difficult to her.

This caused a bit of tension between Kelly and Brandon, because he had already made known to her that he wanted a big family someday, but he convinced her that he loved her and would stay with her no matter what.

Kelly and Dylan realized that they should be together, at Donna and David's wedding in the last episode. Personally, I think Kelly was better off with Brandon, but maybe that's just because I'm a true believer in Brenda and Dylan to the end.
