"LOST" Characters- Getting To Know Kate Quiz

Answer: Harrison Valley

We see this piece of information on her mug shot in the episode "Tabula Rasa". Under her head, in the photograph, she is holding up a sign that reads Harrison Valley Police, and has the numbers 961136 below it. Kate managed to stay with farmer Ray for 3 months before he saw her picture in the post office and turned her in to the police. Oddly enough, I was unable to find Harrison Valley on any map of Australia.

The nearest I could find was a place called Harrison in Southern Australia, so this could be the same place.

The other places are also towns/cities in Australia, all of them around or near Sydney.

Kate used the fake name Annie in the episode "Tabula Rasa" when she was caught sleeping on Ray's property. In "Whatever the Case May Be", we see Kate use the name Maggie in her scheme to rob a bank. In the third Kate-centric episode of season one titled "Born to Run", Kate used the fake name Joan Hart when asking for a letter from a shop clerk.

She did not use the fake name "Leah" during season one.

Answer: She had sewn the drapes in her apartment

Jack asked Kate for a hand with the sewing of his cut, but Kate said she couldn't possibly. Jack asked her if she had ever used a needle and thread. Kate commented that she had sewn the drapes in her apartment. Jack looked pleased and told Kate that it would be exactly the same. Kate then told Jack that she had used a sewing machine to make the drapes.

Answer: Iowa

Kate's hometown is Iowa. We learn this in the episode "Born to Run" in which Kate goes home to visit her childhood friend/boyfriend Tom. In one scene, Kate comments to Tom that he stayed in Iowa. While in Iowa, Kate and Tom dig up an old time capsule that they had buried and listen to a tape they made as kids.

A young Kate is heard on the tape to say she can't wait to get her driver's license so she can just runaway. Young Tom mentions how Kate always wants to runaway, and young Kate simply replies by saying, "Yeah, and you know why." The viewers don't get to learn why in this episode, though.

We learn this fact in the car when Kate and Tom listen to the old tape during the episode "Born to Run". Young Tom introduces them as Kate Austen and Tom Brennan on the tape. Although we get to see Kate's mom in this episode as well, we learn that they do not share the same last name.

Kate does enjoy a pleasant swim with Sawyer, but it happens in a small enclosed lake/pond, complete with waterfall, that she and Sawyer discover in the middle of the jungle. This occurs in the episode "Whatever the Case May Be". After Joanna drowned in the ocean during the episode "White Rabbit", people decided to no longer go out and swim in the ocean. Only Sawyer has been seen swimming in the ocean since that day in the episode "Confidence Man".

Answer: Kate climbs a tree to get aloe leaves so Sun can make a paste to treat sunburns

In "Whatever the Case May Be", Kate is seen up in a tree picking fruit. She then climbs down from the tree, runs into Sawyer and explains that she was gathering fruit because it's the only place the trees aren't picked clean and that people have been eating a lot.

In "All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues", Kate scrambles up some trees and bamboo to cut the rope that Ethan used to hang Charlie. In the episode "Walkabout", Kate scampers up a tree to try and triangulate the signal on the transceiver when she sees the "monster" quickly coming toward her, Locke and Michael. We do not see Kate climb a tree to get aloe for Sun's sunburn paste, although with the amount of tree climbing Kate does do on the show, it's possible that she might eventually be seen doing just this in season two.

Kate is forced to kiss Sawyer in the episode "Confidence Man" when Shannon has an asthma attack and everyone assumes Sawyer had to be the one who had her inhalers. After Jack and Sayid unsuccessfully torture Sawyer for the inhalers, Sawyer makes a deal with the men, telling them he will only tell Kate where they are. Kate comes to him and Sawyer explains that he will only tell her where the inhalers are if she kisses him. Kate does so, but Sawyer informs her that he doesn't have the inhalers. What does Kate do in response to this information? She punches Sawyer.

Answer: Jack: "The key isn't in here." - "Whatever the Case May Be"

Jack does say, "The key isn't in here." to Kate in the episode "Whatever the Case May Be" when they dig up the marshal to get the key to the silver briefcase, but Kate surprisingly forgets to say "What?" to Jack's comment and instead says, "It isn't?". All the other lines did result in Kate saying, "What?" The line Sayid speaks to Kate is because he feels bad about torturing Sawyer and tells her he can't live there with everyone after doing what he did. Charlie brings back the message that Kate has to deliver the baby from Jack, who was too busy trying to save Boone's life to come help her. Hurley speaks his line in lieu of Arzt's explosive death at the beginning of "Exodus 2".

When Kate says, "What?" to his statement, Hurley explains that he is cursed and that Arzt exploded because he came along.

Other times Kate has said "What?" in response to something spoken to her? When Sawyer asks for the kiss in "Confidence Man", when Jack asks her what else is in the case in "Whatever the Case May Be", and when Jack tells her that Boone was murdered in "Do No Harm" all resulted in a big "What?" response from Kate.

Lovely Kate is a lovely Gemini. We learn this in the episode "White Rabbit" when Claire correctly identifies Kate as a Gemini. Claire explains to Kate that she knew Kate was a Gemini because Kate is restless and passionate, which apparently are two characteristics that Gemini's posses.
