Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. One of Rabbit's major contacts into the teeming underbelly is the Elephant Man. What is the Elephant Man's real name?

Answer: Joseph Merrick

He is also known as John Merrick. The real Merrick was from Leicester and because of his deformities worked in the freak shows of Victorian London. He died aged 27 in Whitechapel, London in 1890.
2. Rabbit has referred to a pair of individuals named Weasel and Leopard, but what is their relationship to him?

Answer: Sister & Brother

No reason is given for these unusual names, but their father left his three young children outside a church, with their names written on their foreheads.
3. How does Chief Inspector Wisbech describe the 9-layer cordon put around the match factory on his orders?

Answer: His personal best

Presumably, Wisbech has ordered cordons with fewer layers in the past.
4. Where does Prince Hector claim to have seen Cockneys in the past?

Answer: Australia

Prince Hector is keen to see real Cockneys in London as he has only seen them in captivity in Australia.
5. From his early days of fighting crime, Rabbit knows whom as Joan Deacon?

Answer: Lydia

Lydia is the pseudonym she uses when running the women's club "The Vision", though she tells Strauss her name is Clementine. Mabel is Chief Inspector Wisbech's adopted daughter, Gwen is the landlady of Rabbit's favourite pub and Edith is a murder victim in the first episode.
6. In the explosion in Episode 2, who sustains injuries to his left eye?

Answer: Inspector Tanner

Had Tanner heeded Rabbit's call to drop the bag, he might have been spared the injuries.
7. Where was Rabbit's lover, the sniper Flora Wilson, living till she returned to London?

Answer: Luton

Flora disobeyed Rabbit's instructions to stay out of London, and he comes across her eating a meat pie at an East London stall before they quickly rekindle their relationship.
8. Strauss considers crimes against what to be almost as bad as crimes against Londoners?

Answer: Grammar

No one else in the meeting at the police station is in agreement!
9. In Gwen's pub what is the "talking point"?

Answer: Bicycle

When Rabbit asks why this is hanging from the ceiling, Gwen explains, "It's a talking point. Makes the place nice."
10. Before what time does The Elephant Man never freak?

Answer: 3.00pm

Merrick informs Rabbit, Strauss and Mabel of this, having been summoned in the morning to help end the match factory siege.
