"Last Chance for Romance": Tad/Dixie Quiz

Jack was at his law office when he was surprised to see Gloria there with a gift. She claimed it was one she wanted to give Dixie to help her celebrate her recent marriage to Brian. Gloria told Jack that Dixie implied it was okay for her not to give her a wedding gift.

Dixie opened the door to her hotel room in Manhattan to see Tad alive and in the flesh. However, she thought the man was actually Ted Orsini, Tad's dead ringer, and slammed the door in his face. Tad was stunned at that reaction by Dixie, as he believed she never would think he had ulterior motives to see her.

Brian was distraught after Adam made it clear he was going to sue for custody of JR. He attempted to take JR out of town out of fear that Adam would win the case. However, Hayley and Charlie tracked Brian and JR down at the airport and informed Brian that Adam dropped the custody.

Answer: Opal and Palmer Cortlandt

Brian wanted to make sure that Adam dropped the suit for custody so he called up Cortlandt Manor. Palmer broke the news to Brian that Adam conceded defeat while Opal listened in on the phone conversation. Both Opal and Palmer were delighted to hear that both Brian and JR would be coming home.

While Dixie kept the door locked to prevent Tad from coming inside (still at this time thinking he was Ted), she blasted him for how cruel he was being. As Dixie got to know Nola Orsini during her time in Napa, she yelled at him for shaming Nola's memory.

It was when Tad brought up Brian and JR being tracked down at an airport that Dixie started to suspect Tad of telling the truth. Tad continued talking to Dixie through the door about their life together.

Despite feeling the man on the other side of the door really was Tad, Dixie still insisted he was not back from the dead. Tad started rattling off memories he recollected of his past life with the first being the time when Billy Clyde Tuggle rigged a trap on a bridge. Tad remarked to Dixie about his vividly remembering seeing Dixie on that bridge as he and Billy Clyde Tuggle fought. Due to the bridge exploding and Tad falling off with Billy Clyde, the accident caused him to lose his memory.

Answer: Ozzie and Harriet

Tad asked Dixie to ask him a question which only he would know the answer to so as to prove who he was to Dixie. The question involved a gift Tad gave to her the day before he "died" on the bridge. As Tad was unable to answer it, Dixie felt the man was actually Ted Orsini, that is, until Tad blurted out the names of Ozzie and Harriet.

This led to Dixie recollecting one important memory when she and Tad previously compared themselves to certain couples, like Ozzie and Harriet. Then, Tad instantly recalled the gift he gave to Dixie being a gold watch. Dixie immediately raced to the door, unlocked it and the two embraced each other with a kiss.

At the airport, Brian listened to Hayley as she relayed to him the story about Tad being alive and with Dixie at that point in time. Brian, fearing he would lose Dixie to Tad, wanted to race over there to see the two of them. Hayley was able to talk Brian out of it since she felt him confronting Tad and Dixie would cause more harm.

Gloria sat in the break room at the hospital when a co-worker entered. She let her know how upset Stuart was that he quit volunteering at the hospital just to avoid Gloria. The issue involved Gloria dating Stuart but cheating on him with his twin brother, Adam. A fellow doctor entered to ask the co-worker to leave Gloria alone.

Brian promised Hayley that he would not go to Tad and Dixie's that evening despite his frustration over Dixie being with Tad. When JR came back from the airport gift shop, he asked Brian if they would be seeing Dixie soon. However, Brian informed him they would be going home to Opal and Palmer (Opal was married to Palmer at the time. Palmer is JR's great uncle).
