Update: It turns out that the real Tony was alive and well and living on a desert island. It was Andre who came back and was "murdered" by the Salem serial killer. When it was proven that everyone was really alive Andre eventually died after the real Tony came back to Salem after being found by John and Marlena. Eventually Tony remarried the love of his life Anna Fredericks and left town.
Andre was the one believed to be "murdered" by the Salem serial killer until it was proven that they all were really alive. They all came back to Salem and went on with their lives, eventually Andre was killed by EJ aka Elvis.

Marlena was just the surrogate, she carried them and gave birth to them but shares no DNA.
Too bad that Roman died before he got the chance to know his kids. Marlena killed her own surrogate daughter in cold blood as well as her father.
