Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. John Locke is lying in a hospital bed. Jack Shephard is his attending physician. Jack expresses supreme optimism in a relatively new treatment which may restore John's mobility. How does John respond?

Answer: John is sullen and refuses the treatment.

Jack appears to have successfully repaired the injuries that John incurred from the nearly fatal car mishap. Jack is curious though, about the initial cause of John's paralysis. John is reluctant to go into detail. Unsatisfied, Jack decides to pursue the matter further. In an intriguing scene, Jack suggests that John is an apt "candidate" for a new procedure. John declines the offer.
2. Widmore has decreed that the captives be confined to cages. Sawyer strongly objects. Sawyer manages to wrest a weapon from one of his captors. However, Widmore makes a rather convincing argument. He decrees that one of the captives is not essential. Who is this captive?

Answer: Kate

Despite the fact that Sawyer has the advantage, Widmore draws his gun on Kate. Widmore states that he has a list of names, purportedly vital candidates, upon which Kate's name does not appear. Sawyer relents and hands over his weapon. They are all subsequently placed into cages in accordance with Widmore's demands.
3. Jack is seeking a more detailed medical history for John Locke. With whom does Jack speak about John's medical history?

Answer: Bernard

Jack approaches Bernard Nadler. It seems that Bernard has performed some work on John in the past. Jack casually mentions a flight back from Sydney, and Bernard inexplicably cites "Oceanic 815." Even so, Bernard produces the requisite records for Jack.
4. Jack finds himself disoriented upon a boat. The placid and implacable Sayid assures Jack that there are only three of them left. Suddenly, the MiB appears and demands that Jack accompany them to rescue the other candidates. Jack wants to know how he can trust the MiB. What does the MiB say in response?

Answer: "Because, I could kill you Jack."

The MiB is intent upon saving the captives from Widmore. Jack is not readily convinced. The MiB provides a supremely convincing argument. He suggests that he could kill Jack on the spot as well as all of his friends.
5. As the captives languish in their cages, chaos emerges. The MiB guised as the smoke monster takes his part in eliminating the guards. Who disables the power supply?

Answer: Sayid

The MiB appears to successfully carry out his mission in rescuing the captives. Jack grabs the keys which unlock the cages. The party escapes to a clearing in the jungle. Sayid is waiting there. Jack declares that it is alright, since Sayid is the one responsible for disabling the power supply.
6. The party finally arrives at the plane slated to take them off of the island. The MiB is the first one to inspect the plane. What does he discover?

Answer: The plane has been rigged to explode.

The MiB makes an inspection of the plane. He discovers wiring and C4 explosives. Hence, he declares the Ajira plane unsafe as a mode to depart from the island. Sawyer is skeptical and wants to know how Widmore plans to kill them. The MiB produces a package of C4 explosive which he explains that it has been wired to detonate upon the plane's activation of the electrical system.
7. How does everyone intend to leave the island?

Answer: They will leave on the submarine.

Since the plane has been sabotaged and the only viable way off of the island is the submarine, the party decides to use this method of departure. Unfortunately, the MiB has foreseen this plan and has his own plans.
8. Does the MiB board the submarine?

Answer: No

Jack heeds Sawyer's advice and at the last moment pushes the MiB off of the dock. It appears though, that the MiB has foreseen this event and has planted an explosive device on the submarine. In a poignant scene, some members seemingly perish while others survive the explosion.
9. Perhaps, preconceived by the MiB and Widmore, himself, there is a bomb ready to detonate. Who appears to sacrifice their life to save the other members of the submarine crew?

Answer: Sayid

Sayid, having expertise knowledge in explosives technology realizes that Sawyer's efforts to disable the bomb are lacking. Sayid, heretofore being somewhat of a zombie springs to life, and sacrifices himself to save the other members of the submarine crew.
10. Kate, Hugo and Jack are extremely bereft at the loss of their dearest friends. Jack wades out into the surf and expresses his emotion. The MiB is unperturbed. Claire wants to know what exactly the MiB intends to do. She asks, "Where are you going?" What does the MiB say?

Answer: "To finish what I started."

Seemingly unsatisfied with the resolution of the submarine issue, the MiB apparently has issues to resolve. It remains to be seen as to how this will reflect upon our intrepid remaining survivors.
