This was a mistake made by the writers of "M*A*S*H". They show BJ and Potter at a New Year's Eve party on December 31st 1950. Potter and BJ didn't arrive in Korea until the spring of 1951 or 52. Also, Frank was in Korea for New Year's Day 1951, but he wasn't at this party. Oops!
