Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What did Klinger do at the beginning of the show to infuriate Charles?

Answer: Left the towel hamper in the walkway

Charles comes charging into the scrub room yelling at Klinger in his usual demeaning way. Colonel Potter tells him to not "chew out the boy". Klinger says it's alright "he's rotten but he's right".
2. Who walked into the room just before the autoclave exploded?

Answer: B.J.

B.J. walks into where Charles and Klinger are to see why the lights are flickering and is caught by the explosion. Colonel Potter walks in right after it happens to see if anyone is hurt.
3. What injury does Klinger sustain?

Answer: Broken nose

When Colonel Potter asks him if his head hurts, Klinger responds with "Only where it hooks to my nose!"
4. Of course B.J. denies that he has any injuries. What finally happens in the swamp to make Colonel Potter order x-rays of his arm?

Answer: He drops a martini glass

After the x-ray turns up nothing, Hawkeye tells Colonel Potter "I wish I was as sure about it as you are. B.J. Hunnicutt doesn't drop a martini glass unless his tenth martini is in it."
5. After Charles vows to wait on Klinger for saving his life, the latter begins to come up with outrageous things for him to do. The first is to read him a book deemed "adults only". What's the title of this book?

Answer: "I, the Jury"

Charles initially does not want to read the book to him, but Klinger lays on the guilt saying "I find it so heartwarming to hear your voice ringing out vibrantly after you came so close to being...shall we say, dead?"
6. Because Hawkeye is so worried about B.J., Colonel Potter calls in a replacement, a "handy man" from Tokyo. What's this replacement's name?

Answer: Dr. Traeger

Dr. Traeger arrives, much to Charles' delight, right in the middle of the reading of "I, the Jury." The delight quickly fades, though, when Charles has to carry Dr. Traeger's bags. That work is so below him.
7. B.J. is mad that a replacement has been called, and Hawkeye is mad that he's a "specialist". It doesn't help that Traeger seems to have an ego that matches, and may even exceed his own. While trying to prove he's a qualified surgeon, which one of these does Hawkeye not say he has participated in?

Answer: General surgery

Dr. Traeger asks Hawkeye if he's been handling this type of case (injuries of the wrist) for 20 years in private practice. Hawkeye responds with, "It doesn't matter. Since I got here I've had 20 years experience in private practice, corporal practice and just plain major surgery. If it moves I operate on it!"
8. We could all see it happening, B.J. is definitely hurt. He finally admits it and walks into the O.R. saying he's the next patient. His hand is ghostly white and he can't feel it. After a short, painful examination, what is B.J. diagnosed with?

Answer: Compartment hemorrhage

This diagnosis is reached by Hawkeye barely lifting B.J.'s middle finger and him yelping out in pain. Dr. Traeger states that if his hand isn't operated on immediately he'll lose the use of it. In a brief humble moment, Hawkeye concedes this patient to Traeger. Traeger tells B.J. he's a lucky man because his friend realized who the best man for the job is, to which B.J. replies "Better watch what you say, Traeger, I've still got one good hand."
9. After B.J.'s surgery Traeger examines him in the swamp. After a few more arrogant comments he leaves, and our favorite dark-haired surgeon calls him a name. B.J. states a way they could have "really showed him." What does he say?

Answer: "I should have died right there on the table."

After he says this Hawkeye responds with "Oh, wouldn't we have had the last laugh?" B.J. says, "Well, you would have."
10. In the end, what happens to Klinger's book?

Answer: Charles shreds it and holds a "ticker tape" ceremony

Klinger has continued to hound Charles about reading this book and he becomes fed up. Charles takes the book and shreds it, places it in a paper bag and then dumps the pieces all over Klinger.
