Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of Hazzard County's silly and inept sheriff?

Answer: Rosco P. Coltrane

Yes, it was Rosco P. Coltrane. Poor guy tried so hard to please Boss Hogg, but usually fouled it up in the end. Unfortunately for Rosco, his "fat sister" Lulu married Boss Hogg making him one of the family.
2. What was the name of the actor who played Uncle Jesse?

Answer: Denver Pyle

It was the well respected Denver Pyle. Unfortunately for Denver's many fans, he passed away shortly after the Dukes' first reunion movie.
3. Which of the following counties bordered Hazzard County?

Answer: Chickasaw County

Yes, it was Chickasaw County. Home of one of the most feared sheriffs in all of the south; Sheriff Edd Little. He didn't like the Dukes at all. Come to think of it, he didn't seem to care too much for anybody.
4. Bo was older than Luke.

Answer: False

Bo (John Schneider) was only eighteen when he started the show. Actually, rumor has it that John lied about his age to get the role, saying he was older than 18. Luke (Tom Wopat) was in his mid/late twenties, if I'm not mistaken, when the show began.
5. In a later episode, Boss unleashed a destructive invention on Hazzard county. He used it in two episodes. The name of this invention was "The Mean ________ ________."

Answer: Green Machine

It was a destructive machine. The Duke boys and the General Lee nearly met their demise several time due to this "Mean Green Machine".
6. In the episode, "Ghost of the General Lee" everyone, including Rosco, Boss Hogg, and the Duke family thought that Bo and Luke were dead.

Answer: True

Rosco thought he saw Bo and Luke crash the General Lee into a pond. He saw the car sink to the bottom, but never saw Bo and Luke escape. In fact, what had really happened is that two thieves had stolen the General while Bo and Luke were swimming. They were the ones that Rosco actually saw crash the General into the pond. My only question remains, how did the thieves escape without anyone noticing?
7. In the episode "Days of Shine and Roses", Uncle Jesse purposefully broke his promise that he had made to the "Federal U.S. of A. Government" not to run moonshine ever again, when he ran moonshine one more time in a race against J.D. Hogg to prove once and for all who was the best ridge runner of all time.

Answer: False

Oh yes, the race did occur, but true to his word, Jesse insisted that the bottles be filled with water rather than moonshine, which Boss agreed to. However, before the race, Boss and Rosco schemed up a plot to get Jesse in trouble with the government. UNBEKNOWNST to Jesse, before the race started, Rosco had the bottles of water replaced with moonshine.

Then the race began. Luckily, Bo and Luke uncovered the plot and caught up to Uncle Jesse in Black Tilly. In one of their most daring stunts, they drove along with Black Tilly and, while the cars were still in motion, they switched the bottles of moonshine with bottles of water ruining Boss and Rosco's devious plot.
8. In reference to the above question, Uncle Jesse raced in a car called "Black Tilly". What was the name of the car that J.D. Hogg raced in?

Answer: "The Gray Ghost"

He was fast and proved to be a worthy opponent for Uncle Jesse, but in the end, Jesse took the title.
9. Did the Hazzard law ever catch Bo and Luke violating their probation?

Answer: Yes

Oh yes, many times. Rosco was always so proud of himself when he caught Bo and Luke and got the chance to "cuff 'em and stuff 'em". Unfortunately for poor Rosco, Bo and Luke always had a good reason for violating their parole. Besides, Uncle Jesse was always able to prove them innocent or work out some kind of a deal to get the boys freed. And if Uncle Jesse wasn't able to get the boys out of jail, they often broke out themselves and proved their own innocence.
10. What was the name of Rosco's equally inept deputy who had a major crush on Daisy Duke?

Answer: Enos Strate

Daisy used this to her advantage many times to help Bo and Luke evade arrest. It was so easy for Daisy to distract poor Enos. So, Bo and Luke escaped too many times to count thanks to Enos's puppy love (Well, we all have our pitfalls). As usual, this kept the Hazzard law chasing those Duke boys in circles.
