"NCIS": How Much Do You Know? Part 3 Quiz

Answer: Conner Trinneer ("Chief Engineer Charles Tucker, III" from "Star Trek: Enterprise")

This is a tough one. Conner Trinneer appeared in the episode "Jeopardy" in season 3. In this episode, Ziva is under investigation because a suspect died while in her custody. The brother of the suspect that died then kidnapped the director in order to try and get his brother back, not knowing he was dead. Trinneer plays a character named James Dempsey, the man that actually kidnapped Director Shepard.

In season 4, John Billingsley appeared in the episode "In the Dark" as the blind photographer Jackson Scott. Jonathan Frakes and Ethan Phillips have yet to appear in an "NCIS" episode.

Answer: 0500 hours

As this episode opens, we see Tony staggering into work still half asleep. He proceeds to fill his coffee cup with water so he can brush his teeth out of it. As he complains about having to be at work at 0700, Ziva is quick to point out that Mossad agents start their workdays much earlier!

Ziva said Tony's hair looked like a porcupine. Actually, at first she said porcuswine. After realizing that was wrong, she called it a porcupig. Finally McGee walked in and corrected her by calling it a porcupine.

Answer: it's easier to avoid IED's and ambushes

Ziva says that driving fast is how Mossad teaches their officers to avoid IED's and ambushes. It also happens to be a great way to make DiNozzo vomit. Her driving skills may be good for combat, but those same skills have also enabled her to wreck at least 2 or 3 government vehicles!

Answer: Timothy McGee

McGee is the only left handed character. Historically, some of the world's greatest minds, particularly in math and science, have been left handed. This is an appropriate trait for McGee. It is thought that people that are left handed are right brained, meaning that fields such as math, science, and engineering seem to come easier. Ben Franklin, Thomas Edison, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Linus Pauling, and Marie Curie are just a few examples of famous left handed scientists. Just as a note, Gibbs was shown writing with his left hand in one episode, but has used his right hand on every other occasion.

This episode was shortly after Ziva killed Ari, her half brother. Director Shepard appointed Ziva to replace Kate on Gibbs' team without telling Gibbs about it. When Ziva shows up to work, a surprised Jethro goes straight to MTAC to talk to Director Shepard about it.

When he asks Director Shepard why she hadn't told him about hiring Ziva, she busts him with one of his own rules! Rule # 18: It's better to seek forgiveness than ask permission. The director knew that if she asked Jethro about Ziva he'd say put her on a different team or don't hire her at all.

He positively hates being called sir. Throughout most of the military, officers are addressed as sir or ma'am. Enlisted personnel are addressed by their rank. This is why Gibbs is often called Gunny by other marines. (Gunny is the informal form of the rank of Gunnery Sergeant, which was Gibbs' rank.) Though it is perfectly acceptable to address an officer by their rank, it is often considered an insult to address enlisted personnel as sir or ma'am. Abby knows Gibbs hates being called sir, so she often calls him ma'am just to mess with him!

Answer: Bourbon

Scotch was the drink of choice of Jasper Shepard, the deceased father of Director Shepard. Whiskey is close, but technically it is bourbon that Jethro drinks most often. Though bourbon is his liquor of choice, he drinks beer when he's in Mexico with Mike Franks, and has shared a beer with Colonel Mann in his basement on a couple of occasions.

Answer: her left lower leg

When she first starts to work for Gibbs, he makes her simply observe the first few investigations. In order to make sure she simply observes, Gibbs takes away her gun. He then asks for her back-up. She pretended not to have one, but Gibbs knew she had a holster on her left ankle. Though he took both of her guns, he let her keep her knife. According to Gibbs, you should never go anywhere without a knife.
