Answer: Det. Baldwin Jones

Greg said at the beginning of the episode that Baldwin was in the Bahamas guarding the mayor. Also, ADA Valerie Haywood was not present either, but remember that I said detective.

Answer: Tim

Tim was also a writer who trained himself to pay attention to detail. His observations certainly helped in the course of the investigation, as he was able to give detailed descriptions of the Russians.

3. Det. Connie McDowell is on desk duty due to her pregnancy. In fact, she is supposed to be going to her doctor later in the day. What is she going in for?

Answer: ultrasound

She discusses this with Andy, who wanted to make sure she didn't need him (he is the father after all), and she tells him the doctor told her there isn't much to see on the first ultrasound.

He says he was in the building looking for a man to give him a loan, saying that no one watches out for anyone and he is on his own. He didn't have a name and Andy and John caught him knocking on a door to a woman who didn't know him, so that was why they brought him in.

Brad didn't want Ilya released because he knew either Ilya or was part of his movement. Ilya's "friends" had kidnapped him and his daughter and sent him into the station to demand Ilya's release. Brad just wanted his daughter back.

Her dad, Barry, turns out to be the connection to everything. He was in trouble with Ilya's friends for money owed due to his drug addiction. The dead cat was a warning, and they shot Maureen that morning meaning to shoot Katie. When Ilya was taken in, his friends thought he was being arrested and kidnapped Brad and his daughter to use to get Ilya released.

Although the bomb on Brad does not go off, another one in a dumpster down the street from the station house does go off, a not-so-subtle reminder to release Ilya.

With help from the Feds, they track down Ilya's family in New York. Andy has them bring Ilya's son down to his cell, and tells him to call off the bomb or he will take the boy upstairs and handcuff him to Brad, just like Connie is. Ilya relents and calls it off, the Bomb Squad defuses the bomb, and Brad and Connie are free. Brad's daughter is also released and reunited with her father.
