Debrah Farentino played Robin, the beautiful young woman who married Kelly's old pal Jimmy right before Jimmy died. Nothing came of it, because Kelly still had feelings for Janice, and also because David Caruso was about to leave "NYPD Blue" for a career in films. (That didn't pan out for Caruso, but he's done pretty well for himself, playing Horatio on the hugely popular TV show "CSI Miami.")

She was lovely, and the perfect girl for James. They got married and had a baby, and James eventually got promoted to sergeant and left the squad.

Paige Turco played Officer Abby Sullivan. She and Greg remained friends, and he even made a generous donation that enabled Abby to become pregnant. Sadly, Abby's life partner was murdered by a jealous ex-lover, leaving her on her own. Greg was at Abby's side when the baby was born.

Jill originally got cozy with ADA Leo Cohen to get information. But she came to like him, even though he could be an annoying smart aleck. Jill and Leo didn't last very long, and then Jill went on to become entangled in her ex-husband's dirty business, which eventually forced her to run away.

Angela had a bad drug problem, which was why Tony left her in the first place. She had Tony convinced that she was recovered, but in reality she was in bad shape. Arrangements were made for Tony to take Angela to rehab, but she was found dead right before they were scheduled to go.

Valerie lost the baby, and when Baldwin found out that she had considered having an abortion, she lost him too. They eventually became friendly again, after Baldwin had a brief affair with a flaky cop named Mara.

Andy and Connie married, and became a blended family. Connie was raising her late sister's baby, Andy was a single dad to Theo, and then Connie became pregnant after she married Andy. Andy almost remarried Katie, his first wife, but then Connie came into the picture.

He dated Cynthia for a while too-she was the niece of Andy's fellow detective friend Eddie Gibson. Gerry Turner was very interested in Andy too-she was the PAA that wore rubber underwear to work, and harassed Andy so much he had to report her to Lieutenant Fancy.

Diane and Bobby had to get married on their lunch hour. Andy was to be their witness, but he couldn't make it. There was another couple waiting to be married in the judge's chambers, so they each served as the others witnesses. Diane and Bobby should have lived happily ever after, they certainly deserved to, but it wasn't in the cards. Bobby died of heart failure shortly after they were married.
