Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which psychological system, modal to personality disorders, was used in the three EVA pilots: Rei, Asuka and Shinji respectively?

Answer: DSM's Clusters

The 'DSM' ('Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders') grouped ten different personality disorders, divided in three Clusters: Cluster A (odd or eccentric disorders) presents the 'Schizoid personality disorder' (which resembles Rei) while Cluster B (dramatic, emotional, or erratic disorders) exhibits the 'Narcissistic personality disorder' (used in Asuka) and Cluster C (anxious or fearful disorders) talks about the 'Avoidant personality disorder' (which perfectly resembles Shinji).
2. The Freudian Psychology Theory talks about an innate emotional impulse to destroy both oneself and the others, which opposes the 'Libido' (the urge to create). What's the name of this psychological pattern, named in both the TV series and in 'End of Evangelion'?

Answer: Destrudo

'Destrudo' (or 'Destrado') takes an important relevancy in 'End of Evangelion', as it explains the basic driving force for the Third Impact and Shinji's desire of dying with the rest of the world. This term is used several times in the TV series's original Japanese dubbing and it's also mentioned in the episodes 20 and 21 of the English dubbing as well.
3. What theory involving Dr. Katsuragi (Misato's father) is being discussed by UN scientists in a scene from Episode 21's Director's Cut?

Answer: The Super Solenoid Theory

'The Super Solenoid Theory' ('S2 Theory' for short) was a scientific theory advocated by Dr. Katsuragi, which tried to explain the origins of Adam's energy generation (aka 'The Giant of Light'). After proven correct by the discovery of the angel, he and his crew went to an expedition to study the infamous "giant", which resulted in the 'Second Impact'.
4. What's the song played at the end of each TV series's episode?

Answer: Fly Me to the Moon

"Fly Me to the Moon" was written by American actress/singer Kaye Ballard in 1954 and recorded by Felicia Sanders in 1959 (although the tune was later covered by many artists like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall and many more). Evangelion's version was instrumentally arranged by Shiro Sagisu and performed by many artists like Claire Littley, Yoko Takahashi, Kotono Mitsuishi and Utada Hikaru (to name a few).
5. The use of N2 bombs is seen in five different episodes.

Answer: True

Effectively, N2 bombs are seen in five different episodes: Ep. 01 (against Sachiel), Ep. 09 (against Israfel), Ep. 12 (against Sahaquiel), Ep. 16 (when they planned to throw all 992 bombs against Leliel) and Ep. 19 (when Rei did a kamikaze move against Zeruel).
6. What's the name of the NERV section where the simulation EVAs are? (It was penetrated by Ireul in episode 13).

Answer: Pribnow Box

"Pribnow Box" was also named after the sequence of six nucleotides (thymine-adenine-thymine-adenine-adenine-thymine) used to find traces of bacteria in the DNA. Also notice that this section is surrounded by "protein walls" (which resembles a basic part of all common cells).
7. Who directed the first part of 'End of Evangelion'? (Episode 25: "Air").

Answer: Kazuya Tsurumaki

Kazuya Tsurumaki, one of Anno's most popular students/mentors, served as the assistant director of the TV series and finally as the director of 'End of Evangelion' (Episode 25). He also collaborated in other Gainax projects like 'Nadia', 'His and Her Circumstances' (aka 'Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou') and 'Diebuster' (aka 'Aim for the Top 2!') among others.
8. Which red super-heated liquid is used in Episode 5 to subdue the Evangelion Unit-00 after this became berserk and almost destroys the facilities?

Answer: Bakelite

The "bakelite" is a special liquid that solidifies almost instantly after application. Due to its excepcional strength and durability, the bakelite is used repeatdly in the series (and in 'End of Evangelion') to stop berserk Evangelions. It's named after the first plastic material developed by Dr. Leo Baekeland (Belgian/American chemist who invented the Velox photographic paper) in 1909.
9. In Episode 7 we can see, by means of the scene were Misato is fixing the Jet Alone from the inside, that the robot's main console has approximately 640+2048 Terabytes of memory.

Answer: True

True. The Jet Alone is a giant robot (similar to the Evangelions) that works by nuclear power and was built for the Japanese Government by an independent corporation, whose only intentions were to try replacing the Evangelions.
10. The Lance of Longinus was named after Gaius Cassius Longinus (Roman soldier who impaled Jesus Christ), however, there are many other names for this "weapon". Which of these is one of them?

Answer: All of them

There's a famous legend which states that since the spear had contact with Jesus Christ's blood, it's capable of slaying anything/anyone.
