1. In "Dockers", episode two of "New Tricks", series three, Brian took Scruffy, the dog, to the UCOS office. What did Scruffy do there?

Answer: He swallowed one of Brian's pills

Brian had stopped taking his medication, and was disposing of it in ingenious ways. One pill hit the wastepaper basket and Scruffy ate it. Scruffy was accused of flatulence, but Brian admitted it was him.

2. A UCOS member got a tattoo in a series three episode. What was it?

Answer: a penguin

Brian got a tattoo of a penguin on his bottom. By typical Brian-logic, this was meant to be a romantic compliment to his wife, Esther, who was reading a (Penguin) paperback when they met!

3. In one series three episode of "New Tricks", Esther found one of Brian's pills. What did Brian claim it was?

Answer: A slug pellet

Esther found the pill in a plant pot, so Brian claimed it was a slug pellet. Esther retorted that there were no slugs in her house, to which Brian responded that the pellets must be working, then.
