Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Zach continues to hold the gun at Susan, and Susan asks, "Why?", desperate to try and understand why Zach is threatening to take her life if she makes one wrong move. Apparently, Felicia Tilman told Zach "the truth" about his father. Zach says, "Mr. Delfino took my dad away to kill him." What does Zach say next?

Answer: Now I'm gonna kill Mr. Delfino.

So Zach is holding Susan hostage until Mike comes home, so that Susan can't warn Mike or anything, and since Zach is acting a little psycho at that moment, he probably hasn't decided if he's going to kill Susan too. Later on Susan explains to Zach, "I think you're making a mistake. Mike couldn't kill anybody. I mean, this could just be a misunderstanding." However, Mike is planning on killing Paul at this moment in time, and could very well have gone through with it.
2. Gabrielle testifies for Carlos, and even though she continues to lie by saying that she "falsely led him to believe I was having an affair", Carlos seems to have gotten off the hook. However, John comes in, and says, "Just so you know, you beat up the wrong guy. Didn't you think it was strange that you had the only lawn on Wisteria Lane that needed to be mowed _____ _____ _ ____?"

Answer: three times a week

Mowing a lawn three times a month is too little, if anything, but three times a week is way too much. After John says this and walks away, Carlos takes a moment to look at Gabrielle, and then starts yelling at John that he is "so dead". Carlos gets up and jumps over benches to get to John, as he exclaims that he's going to kill him. No one else seems to really know who Carlos is going after, and he ends up landing on one of the gay guys (Justin) again!
3. Finish this quote of Paul's to Mike: "I don't know how you knew ____________, but she ruined lives. For fun."

Answer: Martha Huber

"I'm not trying to justify anything. I don't know how you knew Martha Huber, but she ruined lives. For fun. She destroyed my family," Paul says as soon as Mike takes the tape off of his mouth. But Mike says, ""This isn't about her," and even though Paul doesn't understand, he follows Mike's order and just walks.
4. Dr. Craig informs Rex that he has too much of a certain mineral in his body. It had been high a while back, and had been the reason Rex had to stop eating bananas. But as they'd continued testing, the levels of this mineral in his body continued to rise. What mineral does Rex have too much of in his body?

Answer: Potassium

Too much of any of these mineral nutrients (sodium, copper, iron, and potassium) can result in mineral toxicity, but George was poisoning Rex with potassium. Bananas are known to be a valuable source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and potassium, so Rex's doctor had suggested he stop eating them since he had too much potassium in his body.

The normal level of potassium in the bloodstream is in the range of 3.5-5.0 mM, while levels of 6.3-8.0 mM (severe hyperkalemia) could result in death due to cardiac arrest, like Rex experienced.
5. So did Tom have a fun day?

Answer: Yes

Lynette: "So, did you have a fun day?"
Tom: "As a matter of fact, I did. I probably had the most fun that I have had in a long time."
This conversation leads to Tom telling Lynette that he's already decided that she's going back to work, and he's going to be a stay-at-home dad.
6. Rex believes that his wife (Bree) had been poisoning him. The doctor suggested it, and Rex doesn't see any other way he could be ingesting the excess amounts of the mineral - after all, she prepares his meals. He grabs a pen and paper, and writes a note that says, "Bree, I understand and I ______ you."

Answer: forgive

This note becomes very important in season 2. As Rex writes it, his hand is shaking, and he is dying. The next scene is when Bree (and viewers) find out Rex has died.
7. Bree is polishing the wedding silver she had mentioned earlier in the episode when the phone rings, and Bree is informed that Rex passed away ten minutes ago. What does Bree say in response?

Answer: But his operation, it's not until tomorrow.

Dr. Craig: "Rex passed away about ten minutes ago."
Bree: "But his operation, it's not until tomorrow."
Dr. Craig: "I know. He just didn't make it. I'm so sorry. We did everything we could. Bree?"
Bree: "Yes, of course you did. Thank you very much for calling."
Bree hangs up the phone, and goes back to polishing the wedding silver, but once she's done, and she's fixed the tablecloth, she then allows herself to feel the impact of what she's just been told - that Rex is dead.
8. Paul wants to know why he's about to be killed, so Mike explains that he knew Deirdre, and he knew what Paul did to her. Mike says she was just a sad girl with a lot of problems, and doesn't understand how she could have possibly deserved death at the hands of somebody like Paul. What did Mike also say she did?

Answer: All of these

Paul: "You knew Deirdre?"
Mike: "Yeah. And I know what you did to her. She was just a sad girl with a lot of problems, and she did some terrible, crazy, selfish stuff, but you tell me what she ever could have done to deserve death at the hands of somebody like you."
And as Paul answers, viewers finally see what happened in a flashback.
9. Deirdre finds Mary Alice and Paul in their house on Wisteria Lane three years after they moved there. Deirdre wants her son back, but Mary Alice won't let her have him. Mary Alice suspects Deirdre was still addicted to heroin, and she ends up murdering Deirdre after things get violent. Was Deirdre still using?

Answer: No

Mary Alice tries grabbing Deirdre's arm, but Deirdre won't let her see it. After she's dead, Mary Alice looks at her arms, but there aren't any track marks. She wasn't using, and Deirdre was clean like she claimed.
10. What is the last thing Mike says in this episode?

Answer: Deirdre had a baby?

After Paul "tells" Mike the whole story of how and why Deirdre was killed, chopped up, and put in a toy chest, all Mike can respond with is his shock that Deirdre, and therefore he, had a baby. Zach is Mike's biological son! This revelation stops Mike from murdering Paul, but Mike leaves Paul all tied up and stranded in the middle of the desert as he walks away.
