After Rachel entered Brooke in Rogue Vogue, a competition for new designers; Brooke had to choose between following her dreams to be a fashion designer and her cheer squad as they had a competition on the same weekend. At first Brooke thought that she could attend both but when faced with the choice she chose to participate in the cheer competition with her friends.

She believed that she had her whole life to focus on fashion designing whereas she would only be young once.

Peyton created the CD to give money to Breast Cancer Research as her real mother suffered with the disease and died from it. During making the CD she met Fall Out Boy and consequently dated Pete Wentz for a short while.

Lucas tried to conceal his heart condition from everyone, entrusting only Haley with his secret. The medication he was on stopped him from playing basketball to the best of his ability so he gave up taking them. Brooke stole pictures of Rachel pre-surgery and posted them around Tree Hill as payback. Rachel said that she had her stomach stapled, a nose job and breast implants to give her more confidence.

At the end of season two, Deb Scott poisoned her husband and set his car dealership alight with him inside. She was tired of him controlling her and their son, Nathan; however Lucas went inside the dealership and dragged Dan out. He became mayor and consequently began to believe that Keith killed him, as he stumbled upon CCTV footage of Keith buying a bottle of the alcohol that poisoned him.

It was later revealed that Keith was going to kill Dan and had bought a gun for this purpose but Deb stopped him and attempted to murder him herself, as she believed it was her mess.

Haley married husband, Nathan Scott, at the end of season one. During season two their romance hit the rocks as they both wanted to follow their dreams, hers being music and his basketball. During the Summer Nathan had given up going on a basketball camp to spend time with his wife, only to discover that she had accepted an offer to go on tour with Chris.

When Haley returned to Tree Hill their marriage was unraveling fast with Nathan's inability to trust her. After some time apart the couple restored their former love and renewed their vows.

Brooke was having problems committing to Lucas so had declared their relationship to be non-exclusive but after the arrival of Rachel she invented the fantasy boy draft as a way of keeping him from her. Peyton had first pick of the draft and picked 'Mouth' as they were close friends. Brooke had second choice and having heard that Rachel wanted Chris she picked him; having made Haley promise to pick Lucas as someone above her on the list had already decided to have Nathan. Unfortunately for Brooke, Rachel had swapped positions on the boy draft with third pick and chose Lucas.

Her plan having fallen through, Brooke eventually told Lucas how much she cared for him and they became exclusive.
