Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Del and Rodney live in Nelson Mandela House. What number do they live at?

Answer: 127

This information is in the book "The Trotter Way To Romance" by John Sullivan, but writing as Derek Trotter. Del gives some of his invaluable tips on wooing the ladies.
2. In the episode "If They Could See Us Now" (Christmas Special 2001)Del appeared on a quiz show called "Goldrush". Who was the presenter of the programme?

Answer: Jonathan Ross

Originally, the BBC and John Sullivan wanted to include "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" in the episode, but the deal was not to the BBCs liking. The programme "Goldrush" was based on certain aspects of "Millionaire",including "Phone A Friend" (in "Goldrush" called "SOS") - which Del used to call Rodney.
3. What is Boycie's first name?

Answer: Aubrey

In the episode "In Sickness and Wealth" Boycie tries to say that Aubrey is his middle name but in the end he actually admits in when Trigger says "You never said your name was Aubrey" he replies "Nor would you if your name was Aubrey". The official OFAH website on bbc.co.uk has character profiles and Boycie is listed as Aubrey Boyce.
Boycie is played by John Challis. He's my least favourite character, but Marlene and Duke make up for him. Marlene and Boycie's son is called Tyler. The family are now featured in a spin off comedy called "The Green, Green Grass".
4. In one episode Rodney was in a band called "A Bunch Of Wallies". What was the name of their first single?

Answer: Boys Will Be Boys

This episode was called "It's Only Rock & Roll" and starred the fantastic Daniel Peacock .
5. An easy one: which character said "If it's a girl they're calling her Sigourney after an actress, and if it's a boy they're naming him Rodney after Dave"?

Answer: Trigger

My favourite character played by Roger Lloyd Pack. Roger also appears in "The Vicar of Dibley" as another of my favourite comedy characters, Owen.
6. What is the aproximate age gap between Del and Rodney?

Answer: 14 years

According to the BBC "Only Fools and Horses" website Del was about 16 when his mum died and his dad left. He was left to bring up Rodney (who was very young) more or less on his own - knowing what Grandad was like he was probably not much help unless he was cooking his speciality - egg and chips.
7. What were the boys mum and dad's names?

Answer: Joan and Reg

The others are the names of my aunts and uncles! Reg appeared in a Christmas special called "Thicker Than Water" in 1983.
8. What is Trigger's real name?

Answer: Colin Ball

This fact was obtained from the "Bible of Peckham Volume 2" which has scripts from series 6 & 7. It also includes a "Who's Who" of Peckham and Albert's war diaries.
9. What is David Jason's real name?

Answer: David White

David was born in 1940. His father was a porter at Billinsgate Fishmarket and his mother was a cleaner. He followed his brother into acting, but had to change his name as there was already a David White in Equity. His brother Arthur also appears in "A Touch Of Frost".
10. In one episode a pregnant Raquel duets with a male singer with a speech impediment at the "Starlight Rooms. What was the name of the male cabaret artiste?

Answer: Tony Angelino

Tony can't pronounce his "r"s, but Del does not take time to find this out and when Raquel and Tony sing "Crying" it is a classic moment up there with the wine bar and chandelier escapades. The episode is called "Stage Fright"....or should that be "Stage Fwight"?
