Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What piece of furniture do Raymond and Peter help Amy and Robert move into their apartment?

Answer: Couch

The show begins with Robert, Peter and Raymond bringing a white couch/sofa into Robert and Amy's apartment. Amy tells the men that they look manly, right before Raymond complains that he might have broken a nail. Amy then thanks Raymond and Peter, and says that any time they need anything moved, Robert will be happy to help.
2. What instrument does Peter play?

Answer: Harmonica

Peter says that the people on the bus must have liked his harmonica playing because they all clapped when he got off the bus. After Amy invites Raymond and Peter to stay for dinner, Peter sits on the couch while Amy goes to make dinner. Robert gives Peter a strange look as he starts playing his harmonica.

He doesn't seem to play very well. No wonder everyone on the bus was clapping when he was done.
3. How many days does Robert say Peter has been living with Robert and Amy?

Answer: Three

Robert mentions at breakfast one day that it's been three days that Peter has been with them. Peter is in the other room and doesn't hear Robert complain about him. Amy, however, doesn't seem to see a problem with her brother staying on their couch for so long.
4. Why is Peter wearing Robert's shirt?

Answer: Amy gave it to him

The morning of Peter's third day living with Robert and Amy, Peter is wearing a blue shirt that is too long for him. Robert comments that Peter is wearing his shirt. Amy then says that she gave it to him.
5. Why does Robert want Amy to buy a new doorknob?

Answer: Because he saw Peter's underwear hanging from their doorknob

After commenting on the fact that Peter is wearing his shirt, Robert also says that he saw Peter's underwear hanging from the doorknob. He then says that if Amy is going out, she should get a new doorknob. Amy doesn't seem to see a problem with this either.
6. Why does Amy start crying at breakfast?

Answer: Robert says "I can't live like this"

While discussing how long Peter has been staying in the apartment, Robert says to Amy, "I can't live like this". Amy then breaks down crying. Robert tries to cheer her up by pointing out the bowl of fruit on the table. Amy tells Robert that she hopes that if Peter stays there long enough, he and Robert will learn to get along.
7. According to Amy, what does everyone know?

Answer: That Peter is a little crazy

Trying to explain himself, Robert says Amy has to admit that Peter is "a little..." and then makes a motion with his eyes and arms. Amy agrees, saying that everyone knows that. She says she wants Robert to make an effort to get along with Peter, because she makes an effort with his family. Amy then mimics Robert and says that his family is a little crazy too.
8. Why does Debra think Peter is at Robert and Amy's house?

Answer: She thinks he came back into town

When Raymond and Debra come over to pick up Robert and Amy to go out to dinner and a movie, they notice Peter. Debra greets him and says, "Oh, Peter, you're back in town." Robert's answer is that Peter is not "back", but rather never left.
9. According to Peter, in what place does nobody judge you?

Answer: On the floor of the bus station

After learning that Robert has a problem with Peter tagging along with everyone else on their double date, Peter says that he is going to leave. Robert offers to bring him back to Pennsylvania, but Peter declines. He says he's going to go and catch a bus.

When Amy says he can't get a bus at that time of night, Peter says he'll just sleep there. This is when he says, "No one judges you on the floor of the bus station."
10. What excuse does Raymond give for Peter not staying at his house?

Answer: The house is broken

Arguing that Peter can't stay at the bus station, Debra offers her and Raymond's home for the night. Knowing that Peter will never leave if he stays one night, Raymond says that he can't. When Peter gives him a hurt look, Ray claims that the house is broken.
11. Who eventually drives Peter home?

Answer: Raymond

Robert is the first to offer Peter a ride to Pennsylvania. Peter declines saying, "That's just what I need. You, me, and no witnesses." Amy then offers to drive him, but Robert says that she has to stay home and be his friend. This is a reference to the earlier argument where Robert says that Peter staying with him and Amy is interfering with them being "friendly". Debra says that if he can't go with Robert or Amy, then it's either her family's house or Raymond has to drive him back. Raymond's response is given in the next scene, where he is shown driving Peter.
12. What are Peter's parents doing to the basement?

Answer: Turning it into a prayer/bible study room

Hank and Pat's renovation of the basement is important, because it is where Peter lived. When Peter notices that his mother is moving his stuff, he seems upset. The final straw is when Hank comes upstairs complaining about the "filth" Peter had downstairs, asking Pat if she knows what "Mad" magazine is. Hank then tells Peter what his plans are for the basement. Pat says that they are giving the room to Jesus. Peter responds with, "Jesus doesn't need a room! His dad didn't toss him out!" Raymond then comes back from the bathroom and Peter calls his parents the worst parents ever. Raymond tries to leave alone, but Peter latches onto him.
13. Where is Peter's cat, Miss Puss?

Answer: Outside

Peter is outraged at the location of his beloved cat, because she is an indoor cat. Pat simply says, "Not anymore." Peter puts all his stuff into a box and starts to leave. He gives the box to Raymond and asks him to help him out, then goes looking for his cat. When Raymond and Peter are shown in the car again, Peter has Miss Puss on his lap.
14. How does Robert bond with Peter?

Answer: Discussing the hardships of being the oldest sibling

Robert tries to be sympathetic to Peter, but Peter had heard everyone laughing about him. Robert says that he wasn't laughing, but Peter doesn't believe him. They discuss being thrown out and how their parents sent mixed signals. Peter's mom would leave a plate of cookies and hot chocolate by his door every night. Robert's mother would cook meats and sauces.

They say that they thought they were doing their parents a favor by staying. The boys claim that their parents made all the mistakes with the oldest - the 'practice kid'.

After their discussion, they smile at one another and go to the fridge to find food.
15. What does Debra call Raymond at the end of the episode?

Answer: Idiot

The following day, Raymond comes into the house and tells Debra that Peter left his harmonica in the car. When Raymond says that Peter is annoying, Debra claims that he's not that bad. Raymond asks her how she'd "like four hours of this..." and then starts playing the harmonica.

When he stops, Debra asks him if he washed the harmonica off before using it. Raymond goes pale and runs into the kitchen. He lies on the counter and puts his mouth under the faucet to rinse his mouth out. Debra flips a page in her magazine and says, "Idiot."
