LJ was watching Warden Pope giving a press conference outside of Fox River. The news lady wrapped her coverage with the fact that Lincoln would be only the thirteenth man in Illinois to be executed, if the execution took place. The execution did not take place as scheduled.

She told Michael that her father would be even less likely to offer clemency if she asked for it. She told Michael that her father hated her work, and never listened to her. She went to Veronica and Nick anyway, and then gave her father their reports.

He did call at the last minute, to say he'd denied clemency. The scene of his denial shifts to him in the company of the devious Vice President Reynolds, played by Patricia Wettig.

LJ could not come to Lincoln's visitation because he was still wanted for the murder of his mother and step-father. So, Veronica went and called Nick from her cellphone. Nick handed it over to LJ and he was able to talk to Lincoln. LJ did not say goodbye to his father, but instead told him he'd dreamt of the two of them building a house together.

In the dream they were older men, and LJ knew that meant that this day was not the last time they'd speak. Lincoln cried during their talk.

I am not really sure what he meant, but that blackmailed Fernando's cousin into helping with the guard uniform. He delivered it, wrapped in black plastic, to Michael and Fernando's cell later.
John has still not reappeared since being knifed by T-Bag.

Michael was trying to high-tail it back to his cell before count, which occurs several times a night. Inside the wall, Michael was almost discovered by a guard. The only thing that prevented it was Michael backing into an extremely hot pipe. He had to spend at least half a minute against it, and experience a severe third degree burn.

When he got back inside the cell, he made Fernando rip the guard's jacket off of his body. Dr. Tancredi had to sedate Michael to clean his wound. Sadly, the burn and subsequent debridement cause Michael to lose his blue print of their second escape route.

When approached by the man who lent him the money, Linc told him that he could not kill anyone. There was also another man inside Linc's apartment at this time. This man told Linc he could fire a $90,000 bullet and all his problems would be solved, as the debt would be considered paid.

This man bought Linc's debt off of Crab Simmons, so the conspiracy to hide Terrance could unfold. Linc would appear inside the parking garage, the man in the car would already be dead, and the secret service would have a real video image to alter in their favor. Linc would go to prison and be executed, while Vice President Reynolds hid her brother away, alive and well.

We also saw some history for Teddy Bagwell and C-Note (Ben Franklin). Teddy's girlfriend Susan saw him on "America's Most Wanted" (also a Fox network series) and turned him in. We also saw her visit him inside Fox River, as instructed by her therapist. During that visit, we learned that Teddy murdered six students in Alabama, but we do not know what ages these students were.
C-Note was dishonorably discharged from the military, when he reported prisoner abuse at his work. He was a prison guard, and he'd been smuggling various goods into the desert for his fellow officers. That was used against him when he refused to let go of what he'd seen.
John Abruzzi's life had already been seen in some flashbacks this season, and he was assumably still recovering from Teddy's attack.
Dr. Sara Tancredi was seen to have a drug addiction, which she battled against. She met Fox River guard Brad Bellick in a group meeting, and he reported the position was open at the prison. He also asked her out on a date, where we see a softer, insecure side of him. She turned him down with the excuse she would be working on her resume.

The first time was to get money to take Maricruz on a nice date. So, he only took the amount he needed. He did not cover his face in this robbery at all. The second time he robbed the same store, it was to get more money. He wanted the money to buy an engagement ring for Maricruz, but his slimy cousin turned him in.

Veronica and Michael ran into each other at a bar. She had too much to drink and came home with Michael. They were just about to kiss when Michael's phone rang. The call was from Linc, but Michael did not answer it. Later, Michael found out from Veronica that Linc was in debt for Michael.

He'd told Michael that the money was from a life insurance policy of their mother's, but she had no life insurance. Linc had borrow a lot of money so Michael could go to school and become someone.
