Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Go"- As the episode opens, Michael is dealing with Warden Pope. Pick the choice that does NOT apply to this scenario.

Answer: He wrecks the model of the Taj Mahal

When Michael finishes getting Warden Pope tucked away inside his office closet, he leaves the room to head back to his cell. On his way out, he opens a phone line in the warden's office and dials an automated joke line. Then, Michael tells the warden's secretary that he doesn't want to be disturbed while on a conference call.

She sees the red light on the phone, showing the warden's phone line is open, and believes Michael's story.
2. "Go"- Did Nick give in to Abruzzi, and deliver Veronica as promised?

Answer: No

Nick did hold her at gunpoint and explain the situation. John had arranged for a cohort to confess to a murder charged to Nick's father. In exchange, John demanded that Nick deliver Veronica to the airstrip so he could force Michael to give up Fibonacci. Nick did not know that end of the bargain, just what John wanted him to do with Veronica. Ultimately, Nick changed his mind and allowed Veronica to go to Montana to find Terrance Steadman.
3. "Go"- How did the inmates get the bars off of the infirmary window?

Answer: fire hose and an elevator

They rolled out a fire hose from inside the elevator. They tied it to the bars and tried to send down the elevator. A kink in their plan came about, as usual, when the elevator doors wouldn't close on the fire hose. So, Tweener jumped in to add weight and down it went. The descending elevator tore the bars right out of the infirmary wall.
4. "Go"- After refusing to give up Veronica's location, both Nick and his father were murdered.

Answer: True

Nick returned to his apartment to find Abruzzi's henchman waiting there with Mr. Savrinn. He gave Nick a chance to talk, and then shot his father in the head for inspiration. He gave Nick another chance, then shot him in the shoulder for inspiration. Nick would not tell him anything, so finally the man shot him in the head.
5. "Go"- Westmoreland is fatally injured from his struggle with Bellick. So, he decides to tell Michael where (how much) his D.B. Cooper stash is located. It was not $1 million as reported. How much money did Westmoreland say Michael would find?

Answer: $5 million

When Michael finds out that things are not how he thought they were, it normally means bad news. In this instance, it was great news. Charles Westmoreland, whom Michael believed to be the legendary D.B. Cooper, admitted he'd buried five million dollars under a silo on a Utah ranch. Now, can Michael and Linc ever reach the money?
We did see in the next (and last) episode of season one, Westmoreland had passed away from his injury.
6. "Flight"- Which inmate did not get over the wall in time to escape?

Answer: Manche

After Warden Pope was found inside his office closet, the alarm was sounded for an escape attempt. This caused Sucre's cousin Manche to prematurely climb the cable to cross over the wall. The cable broke, as it could not sustain the weight of two men. Manche hit the ground, but Michael held on, and Linc pulled him up the wall. Westmoreland did not make it either, as he'd died inside the infirmary.
7. "Flight"- Haywire was not a planned tag along on the escape, and his mental issues precluded his inclusion in their getaway. On his own, Haywire had to steal a mode of transportation. Which form of transportation did Haywire steal to aid his getaway?

Answer: a bicycle

The inmates tricked Haywire into getting out of their getaway van. They told him the keys had been hidden in a nearby trashcan. When Haywire got out to retrieve the keys, Abruzzi handed them to Linc. They drove away from Haywire, who later stole a bicycle from a young girl. He apologized to her as he rode away.
8. "Flight"- In order to assure his inclusion, T-Bag handcuffed himself to Michael and then swallowed the key. How did Michael become un-cuffed from T-Bag?

Answer: Abruzzi axed off T-Bag's hand

While in the van, Abruzzi told T-Bag he'd cut the key out of him if he had to. It did not quite come to that. Their van became stuck in a rut, so the inmates were forced to run. After sending Tweener on his own path, Michael and T-Bag struggled to keep up with the group. They all ended up resting inside a barn, where John found the ax. He promptly used it to remove T-Bag from Michael, as T-Bag was useless to him and had slit his throat earlier in the season.
The injury did not kill T-Bag, and the season ends with his fate unclear.
9. "Flight"- Why didn't Michael, Linc, Sucre, Abruzzi, and C- Note get on the getaway plane?

Answer: it flew off before they arrived at the airstrip

Abruzzi's men waited on that airstrip for as long as they dared. When the prison alerted the authorities, the plane was forced to leave without the inmates. We last saw them fleeing on foot through the field next to the airstrip.
10. "Flight"- The American president died at the end of season one.

Answer: True

With all of the talk by this season one "secret agency", you would have thought it was Vice President Caroline Reynolds about to be killed off. Instead, she'd arranged to poison her president. He died of a heart attack, from an untraceable toxin, and she was sworn in as the acting president. In this TV season we witnessed two female US Presidents sworn into office after the death of the male president at the time. Geena Davis, as Vice President Mackenzie Allen on "Commander in Chief, played the first one.

Season one ends with Tweener and Haywire on their own escape route; Dr. Tancredi busted for her involvement, but possibly dead of an overdose of Morphine; T-Bag handless and on the run; Nick Savrinn murdered; Veronica inside the Montana house with Terrance Steadman; LJ still locked in jail; Westmoreland dead in the prison; and Bellick swearing death to all the escapees.
