Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the man who came into Jules' garret through the window and attacked him?

Answer: Phileas Fogg

Yes, it's true, Phileas did beat poor Jules up, but only because he thought he was conspiring against the Queen of England.
2. What did this man accuse Jules Verne of doing?

Answer: Conspiring to kill Queen Victoria with an advanced machine which he drew

Jules drew the design for the Mole, yes, but it was only a doodle. the League of Darkness were the ones who stole it from him and used it in their own diabolical schemes. And although Phileas hasn't touched on the subject of Jules' manners, he will eventually.
3. When Jules is first aboard the Aurora, Phileas says of his valet Passepartout, "He speaks __ languages, all of them badly." How many languages does Passepartout speak?

Answer: 14

Passepartout ends up being the comic relief for the show for just that fact alone. Who knew mangled English could be so funny?
4. In the show, Jules and Passepartout make detectors so the Mole can't come within the vicinity of the Queen and Emperor Napoleon during their treaty debate without being noticed. Later at the treaty discussion Phileas and Passepartout see Jules waking into the Mole, Phileas believes, of his own free will. Then at the place of meeting, Phileas and Passepartout get the signal that tells them not only that Jules did not betray them, but that the Mole is nearby and they need to get the monarchs out of dodge. What is the signal?

Answer: A rocket attached to the detector that the Mole set off

Jules lied to the captain of the Mole, telling her that there was a gap in the ring of detection devices that she could get through. The gap he took her through was not undetected, and the detector set off a fuse that led the rocket that let the heroes know the Queen and the Emperor were in danger.
5. At the end, Phileas and Passepartout build a counterwave device that Jules made a smaller version of. They use it to save the Emperor and the Queen from the Mole, and also Jules, who they discover severely tortured and badly shaken. But for all of his troubles, Jules gets a special treat. What was it?

Answer: Jules gets to meet Queen Victoria and Emperor Napoleon

Jules did get to meet Royalty, but he was so exhausted that his friends had to hold him up, and to top that all off he almost fainted! Poor Jules!
6. Who played the Mole's Captain in this episode?

Answer: Tracy Scoggins

Tracy Scoggins is a great actress. I think she did a great job as captain of the Mole. Very convincing French accent as well.
7. Who was the one of Emperor Napoleon's advisors who worked for the League and helped the Mole find it's destination?

Answer: Henri Bellmain

Bellmain was one of the bad guys. But he did get his come-uppings in the end when Rebecca beat him up. Go Rebecca!
8. Who went into the Mole, fought off the minions and rescued Jules?

Answer: Phileas Fogg

Phileas saves the day! One of my favorite parts in this episode comes when he beats the Mole Captain without actually hitting her. (He's an English gentlemen, he can't hit women.) He pushes her into the circuits and she gets fried.
9. Who does the Queen say Phileas is more like everyday?

Answer: His father

If you've seen "In the Beginning" you know Phileas didn't completely appreciate that compliment. He has some serious issues with his dad.
10. In the beginning of the episode Jules was taking down a poster for what?

Answer: A play he had just made

Jules was a struggling playwrite, but he still took the poster of his flopped play home as a souvenier.
