Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Mother Abigail claims that God said four men must go west to meet Flagg and to make their stand. After making it to Las Vegas which one of the four said "it's all right Mr. Henry, you don't know any better."

Answer: Glen

Of the four men, Stu had an accident along the road and was left behind. Larry, Glen and Ralph make it to Las Vegas they are arrested and placed in jail. Flagg tried to barter with Glen except Glen just laughs at him. Flagg orders Lloyd to shoot Glen. Glen tries to convince Lloyd to shoot Flagg instead but is unsuccessful.

After shooting and missing, Lloyd does shoot him. As he is dying Glen tells Lloyd that it was okay because he doesn't know any better.
2. He is the first known carrier of the disease. Instead of closing the gate that would have sealed off the base he took his wife and his baby and ran. Who is he?

Answer: Campion

Campion is the first carrier of the disease. When a code red is issued, instead of closing the main gate which might have prevented the spread of the superflu, Campion take his wife Sally and their daughter and drives away. The superflu has a communicability of ninety-nine percent.

He manages to make it Arnette Texas, halfway across the United States (spreading the superflu as he goes) where he finally died.
3. In an attempt to control the superflu from spreading, Arnette Texas has been quarantined, the Army was rounding up the residents to be sent to Vermont. Who said "country don't mean dumb" when the military police came to take him away?

Answer: Stu

Stu said these words to Denninger when it was Stu's turn to be placed on the truck. After Campion died in Arnette, the residents were rounded up and sent to the Center for Disease Control in Vermont. It wasn't a request that they go, but an order. "Country don't mean dumb" is a reply to Denninger's if Stu resisted, shoot him.
4. After the superflu ran its course, some were not as lucky as others. Lloyd was locked in jail. He was let out, after he agreed to "all I need is your word we're gonna stick together. No backstabbing, no falling asleep on the watch. Just you and me Lloyd, win or lose, stand or fall." In exchange for loyalty Lloyd was released from prison. Who released him?

Answer: Flagg

In exchange for loyalty to Flagg, Lloyd was released from prison. After the superflu and almost everyone died there was no one available to open the cell door. Lloyd was trapped inside his cell without a way out. Flagg let him out of jail, and made him his right hand man.
5. Tom is a mentally challenged person, his favourite saying is 'M-O-O-N spells' everything and anything. Another person says "M-O-O-N spells Nick Andros"; who is it that finally tells Tom Nick's name?

Answer: Ralph

For Tom M-O-O-N spells a lot of things, some being hobbies, deaf and dumb and peanut butter and jelly. Tom meets up with Nick, a deaf-mute, who communicates through writing, except Tom cannot read. On their way to find Mother Abigail, they meet Ralph, who finally introduces Nick to Tom, with a "M-O-O-N spells Nick Andros."
6. The Free Zone Committee decided to send scouts or spies to Las Vegas to see what Flagg is planning. Of the three scouts sent who is the only one that returns to the Free Zone?

Answer: Tom

Judge Farris, Dana and Tom where sent as scouts to spy on Flagg in Las Vegas. None of the scouts knew who the other scouts would be, or even if there were other scouts. Flagg could "see" who the first two scouts were, but when he tried to see the third scout all he could see was the moon. Judge Farris was shot and killed by Bobby Terry in Copperfield as he tried to return to the Free Zone. Dana committed suicide rather than cooperate with Flagg. Tom the final scout (M-O-O-N that spells moon) was able to leave Las Vegas. On his return trip to the Free Zone, he meets up with Stu and both men return to the Free Zone.
7. "Apology accepted. Mostly because I agree with you, the big Apple is baked." Nadine says this, but who is she agreeing with?

Answer: Larry

Millions of people are dead, very few are left alive. Combine that with the July temperatures, and Larry said that New York would soon start to smell. Larry wants to leave New York and go to Nebraska, to Hemmingford Home and to Mother Abigail. He uses this argument to convince Nadine to leave with him. "The big Apple is baked" is Nadine's way of agreeing that she will go with him.
8. "My life for you" is a phrase that is repeated often by a specific person. Whose life is being offered?

Answer: Trashcan Man

Trashcan man says the phrase "my life for you" several times. He is making the offer to Flagg, it is an offer of devotion and loyalty. Trashcan man is a pyromaniac and Flagg promises to set him to burn. Trashcan man idolizes Flagg and would do anything for him, including delivering a nuclear warhead to Flagg as a gift.
9. The superflu kills 99% of the human population, but it also killed off the majority of the dogs and horses. What is the name of the first dog we see?

Answer: Kojak

Stu after meeting up with Glen comments that Kojak, Glen's dog, is the first dog he has seen since the third week in June. Glen replies "yeah, the superflu took most of the dogs right along with their idiot masters...most unfair." The superflu kills not only humans but dogs and horses as well.
10. In a battle between good and evil, having a pawn who is willing to betray one side for the other is always a bonus. Harold is that pawn but Harold himself was betrayed and he died. But what caused Harold's death?

Answer: Self-inflicted gun shot (suicide)

Harold in attempts to impress Flagg and be accepted into Las Vegas created a bomb which he had Nadine hide in the closet of where the Free Zone Committee was going to meet. After setting the bomb off he and Nadine left for Vegas. Along the way, Harold had an accident, and he was sent over a guard rail, breaking his leg. Nadine left him there for dead, Harold later shoots himself.

In the movie you never actually see him shoot himself, you see him write a note, place it in shirt, him getting out the gun, you hear the gun shot but the movie then shows Stu who not only knows Harold killed himself, but could taste the gun oil. Thanks for playing my quiz I hope you enjoyed it.
