This quiz is on the TV show, 'Saikano'. Even though it's completely ridiculous, it's quite sad how all of the main character's friends start dying off one by one each episode. This one's for the last love song on this little planet.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What did Chise destroy at the end of the anime to save Shuji?

Answer: The universe

Chise couldn't prevent the invasion therefore destroyed the universe. It is quite sad since she did sacrifice everything to save life of the one she loves.
2. Who is the author of 'Saikano'?

Answer: Shin Takahashi

The author, Shin Takahashi, is shown in the opening of every episode including the first.

Hajime Kamegaki is the director of 'Air Gear'.
Tomoki Kobayashi is the director of 'Utawarerumono'('Shadow Warrior Chronicles').
Nagaru Tanigawa is the author of 'The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi'.
3. Which region is the main plot set?

Answer: Hokkaido

Hokkaido is the large island north of the main island of Japan. Chise protects their little town from even knowledge of the destruction faced by the rest of the world including the rest of Japan during World War III.
4. Which organization made Chise into "the ultimate weapon"?

Answer: Japan Self-Defense Forces

JSDF is the right answer. The organization was created after World War II for defense purposes due to fear of further Japanese aggression.
5. Which city did Shuji and his friends go for shopping before it was bombed during the first episode?

Answer: Sapporo

Sapporo is the place to go in Hokkaido, but they can't go often since it's so far. It's the capital of Hokkaido.

Their snow festival attracts millions of tourists around the world. Also don't forget their awesome beer brewery.
6. Why did World War III begin?

Answer: Japan had desirable land.

I believe this question is quite difficult. In the end of the anime, Chise said that humans have done a lot of damage to this world. This means the rest of the world is uninhabitable. Japan has livable land and therefore was invaded.
7. Why did Atsushi enlist and go off to war?

Answer: He wanted to protect Akemi.

Atsushi is best friends with Shuji, Chise, and Akemi, but he is in love with Akemi. He knows that Akemi in love with Shuji therefore keeps his mouth shut. Frustrated, he joins the JSDF since it's the only thing left that he can do for Akemi. He was devastated to hear that Akemi died.
8. Which World War II weapon does Chise mostly represent?

Answer: Atomic Bomb

The atomic bomb is the correct since not only did the United States bomb the Japanese with it, it also had the same mass destructive power. The anime wouldn't have been made if it weren't for the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The V-1 flying bomb is the first guided missile in the world created by the Germans. The Japanese made a similar bomb, Baka, which were used against American bombers.

Cyanogen Chloride is a poisonous blood agent chemical weapon that is especially dangerous since it can penetrate gas masks.

Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) is the most powerful bomb that is non-nuclear. It was used during the Vietnam War and in Afghanistan.
9. Where was Akemi's father when she died?

Answer: Looking for help

Akemi is a very close friend of Shuji, Chise, Atsushi, Take, and Yukari. She's that girl that always rides her bike to school. She was the one who convinced Chise to confess to Shuji even though Akemi was in love with him.

Akemi confesses to Shuji after a critial injury during an earthquake and dies in his arms. Her father ran out of the house to look for help even though he knew already that he couldn't find aid since the entire town was crippled due to the massive seismic activity.
10. Why did Kawahara commit suicide?

Answer: He felt guilty.

As Kawahara tears apart the peaceful lifestyle that Chise and Shuji have created in order for Chise to go back to the army, he feels guilty about making her into an ultimate weapon and puts a bullet in his mouth.
