Jackie brought her self-proclaimed New York-attitude with her to Neptune when she said to Veronica, "Listen, I don't care if you're the house magician, can you just make me a macchiato?" To which Veronica responded, "Poof! You're a macchiato."

Answer: Did the bus driver kill himself?

The bus driver's daughter asked Veronica to prove that her dad didn't kill himself by driving the bus off the cliff. She didn't start looking for who caused the bus accident until she succeeded in proving Ed's innocence. Later in season two, she eventually helped Logan and Weevil discover who killed Felix. And it was simply a miracle that Meg survived the accident.

Answer: Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith played the almost-lovable convenience store clerk that sold Ed his last meal. Smith was the writer/director of such films as "Clerks," "Chasing Amy," "Dogma," and "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back." Joss Whedon guest-starred in the season two episode "Rat Saw God."

Answer: Veronica was distraught over the commercialism of the bus disaster

When Wallace called Veronica to ask for her help, she was in the convenience store discovering that the store was profiting on the bus disaster. She was on the verge of tears, so Wallace didn't ask for help, instead taking the case himself.

Dick Sr. made a point of asking Logan to the firing range with him and Dick in front of Cassidy, which very handily excluded Cassidy from the male bonding. Cassidy's response: "Okay, so I guess I'll just stay here and knit something."

The reporter was posing as a student at Neptune High in order to get information for stories about the kids who died in the bus crash. Wallace got the reporter to give Jackie her insurance information by holding her spark plugs hostage. Then he turned her in to the sheriff's department.

Duane, played very convincingly by Kevin Smith, was a scene-stealer in this episode. Veronica was disgusted by the blatant commercialism of the bus disaster; but held it together to play a death-groupie to get the information she needed about Ed's last meal.

Answer: Close to You

Veronica was pretending to fill out an application for receptionist when Lamb interrupted her. Lamb asks, "What are you up to?" Veronica answers, "The last question, actually. 'Why do you want this position?' Honestly, and really tell me the truth: how much of an ass-kiss would I be if I admit it's to be close to you? Seriously. Why do birds suddenly appear every time you're near?" The last line was from the Carpenters' 1970 hit.

In this scene, Veronica and Wallace were expressing their frustration over the ridiculousness of the news articles about the students who died in the bus crash. Veronica may have said kittens here, but we found out later in the season that her secret love was unicorns. And throughout the series, she was always expecting a gift of a pony from her dad.
