1. Massachusetts

Answer: Cheers

"Cheers" aired on NBC from 1982 to 1993. Airing for 11 seasons and 275 episodes, "Cheers" was primarily set at a bar in Boston, MA. (The television bar was based on a real-life bar, The Bull and Finch, in Boston.) Ted Danson portrayed a former baseball player who was an owner and head bartender. George Wendt and John Ratzenberger portrayed two of the regular bar patrons.
2. Michigan

Answer: Home Improvement

Inspired by the stand-up comedy of Tim Allen, "Home Improvement" aired on ABC from 1991 to 1999. Running for eight seasons and 204 episodes, the series was set in the suburbs of Detroit, MI. Tim Allen portrays the host of a home improvement television show called "Tool Time" and Patricia Heaton portrays his wife. Earl Hindman portrays the neighbor Wilson who was almost always seen with his face partially obscured.
3. Minnesota

Answer: Little House on the Prairie

"Little House on the Prairie" aired on NBC from 1974 to 1983. Airing for nine seasons and 204 episodes (plus four specials), the series was set in and around the small town of Walnut Grove, MN. Set in the nineteenth century, the series was adapted from the children's books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Michael Landon started as the father of the Ingalls Family and Karen Grassle portrayed his wife.
4. Mississippi

Answer: In the Heat of the Night

Based on the novel and movie of the same name, "In the Heat of the Night" aired from 1988 to 1995, first on NBC (1988-92) and then CBS (1992-95). Running for eight seasons and 142 episodes (plus four TV movies), the series is set in the fictional Mississippi town of Sparta (a fact that is regularly mentioned). Carroll O'Connor portrays the chief of the town police force and Howard is a detective on the police force.
5. Missouri

Answer: Ozark

"Ozark" began as a series releasing episodes through Netflix in 2017. The first two seasons each had 10 episodes. The series is set in Osage Beach, MO. Jason Bateman portrays a financial advisor who moves his family from Illinois to Missouri when a money-laundering scheme turns dangerous. Laura Linney portrays his wife. Once in Missouri, the fmaily is not quite able to escape involvement in illegal activities.
6. Montana

Answer: Caitlin's Way

"Caitlin's Way" aired on Nickelodeon form 2000 to 2002. Running for three seasons and 52 episodes, the show was set primarily on a ranch in Montana. (Many of the actual locations filmed were in Alberta, Canada.) Lindsey Felton portrayed a troubled girl from Philadelphia who moved to Montana to live with relatives. In Australia, the series aired under the title "Just a Kid".
7. Nebraska

Answer: The Young Riders

"The Young Riders" aired on ABC from 1989 to 1992. Lasting three years and 68 episodes, the series focused on the story of the short-lived Pony Express. The series was set at Sweetwater Station in the Nebraska Territory. Several characters were historic figures who had been involved with the real-life Pony Express including Buffalo Bill Cody (portrayed by Stephen Baldwin) and Wild Bill Hickok (portrayed by Josh Brolin).
8. Nevada

Answer: Bonanza

"Bonanza" aired from 1959 to 1973 on NBC and was one of the oldest television series to have been filmed entirely in color. Lasting for 14 seasons and 431 episodes, the series was set at the Ponderosa Ranch, near Virginia City, Nevada Territory. Lorne Greene portrayed a wealthy rancher and Pernell Roberts, Dna Blocker, and Michael Landon portrayed his three sons. "Bonanza" was the number one program on US television stations for three consecutive seasons (1964-1967).
9. New Hampshire

Answer: Ichabod and Me

"Ichabod and Me" ran from 1961 to 1962 on CBS. Lasting for only one season (but 36 episodes), the show was set in the fictional New Hampshire town of Phillipsboro. Robert Serling portrays a man who moves from New York City to New Hampshire to become the editor of the town paper. George Chandler (Ichabod) portrays the former editor of the paper. During its season, "Ichabod and Me" was unable to develop a large audience.
10. New Jersey

Answer: The Sopranos

"The Sopranos" aired on HBO from 1999 to 2007. Airing for six seasons and 86 episodes, the show was set in northern New Jersey. The show starred James Gandolfini as a mobster and family man. Edie Falco portrayed his wife and Robert Iler and Jamie-Lynn Sigler his children.

The show was both critically acclaimed and popular with a viewing audience on a premium cable channel equivalent to some of the most popular network television series of the time.
