Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Ted never told anyone else that Vicki was a robot.

Answer: False

In one episode, Ted (Dick Christie) told pro wrestling legend Jesse "The Body" Ventura (an old college friend of Joan's who used to be a wimp that Ted used to pick on), after Vicki (Tiffany Brissette) body slams him onto the couch. Jesse starts to lose his self confidence because of it. So, Ted showed Jesse that Vicki is a robot that he invented, and told him the reason that she was able to throw him like that, is because Vicki has the strength of a thousand men.
2. What is the name of the other robot that Ted invented?

Answer: Vanessa

Vanessa (Tiffany Brissette in a dual role) is a more human, and advanced version of Vicki, with 2 major flaws:

1. Ted created her to be independent, so unlike Vicki, Vanessa doesn't take orders, especially from humans, whom she sees as inferior.

2. Vanessa has no problem with harming or killing others. When she found out that Ted was going to dismantle her, she switches places with Vicki, causing Ted to unwittingly deactivate, and dismantle Vicki. Vanessa tied Ted, Joan, and Jamie together, boarded up the windows, and locked all of the doors so she could burn down the house (after seeing it in a TV movie). Ted tricked Vanessa into deactivating herself. He dismantled her, and reassembles, and reactivates Vicki.

Ted reactivated Vanessa in another episode, thinking that he has corrected her personality, but he's proven wrong when Vanessa traded places with Vicki, and tried to blackmail the family into allowing her to star in a Hollywood movie.
3. Which one of Joan's students steals the history test?

Answer: Jessica

Jamie (Jerry Supiran) is absolutely crazy about Jessica, even though she describes him as being a "vulgar buffoon", and that he's "gross, crude, boorish and grunge". After class, he tries to write her an apology letter for embarrassing her, but ducks under the desk, and sees someone steal the history test.

Joan believes it to be Jamie, but he swears that he's innocent. To prove it: Jamie questions all of the kids in class using Vicki as a lie detector (i.e. Truth=Laugh, Lie=Sneeze). When Vicki questions Jessica about stealing the history test, she denies stealing the test, but Vicki sneezes, proving that Jessica is the culprit and Jamie reveals to Jessica that he saw her steal the test.

Jamie ends up taking the blame for Jessica when she tells him that she'll be his girlfriend. Ted and Joan ground Jamie indefinitely.

Jamie finds out from Harriet (Emily Schulman) that Jessica is dating a football player, and that she is only manipulating Jamie in order to keep her out of trouble.

Jamie embarrasses Jessica into admitting that she stole the history test in front of the entire class, and Joan. Jessica says that the reason why she stole the test is because her parents pressure her to always get straight A's.
4. What was the name of the gang that Jamie and Vicki briefly became members of?

Answer: The Screaming Skulls

Beast, the leader of the Screaming Skulls catches Jamie with his jacket. He was about to beat Jamie up, until Vicki intervened. Vicki, and Jamie become members of the Screaming Skulls, until Jamie refuses to act as a lookout for the Screaming Skulls, who were looking to steal sporting goods from the school gym. Beast beats Jamie up, but because of Jamie's bravery due to standing up to Beast, everyone else in school stands up to him as well, including the principal who expels the entire gang after the fight.

The role of Beast is played by former child actor Adam Rich, who may be best known as the voice of Presto the Magician on the '80s Saturday morning cartoon "Dungeons and Dragons", and for his role as Nicholas Bradford on the classic ABC TV series "Eight Is Enough".
5. What is the name of the language modification system that Ted invents for Vicki?

Answer: RAMCLAS

Ted invents RAMCLAS (short for Random-Access-Multiple-Concurrent-Linguistic-Analytical-Sequencer) as a way for Vicki to help children with learning disabilities, regardless of what language they speak. RAMCLAS works so well, that Vicki is also able to understand animals, making her a "nuts-and-bolts Dr. Doolittle".

Jamie uses Vicki's new linguistic abilities as a way to make money by translating for the pets of neighborhood kids, and with the help of Foo Foo (the pooch owned by Ted's boss Harold Jennings), Vicki puts Cynthia (Harold's snobby wife) in her place, after she excludes Ted, and Joan from a charity ball that Joan worked on, and after Cynthia insists that Harold fires Ted from his job.
6. What is the name of Brandon Brindle's sister?

Answer: Ida Mae

Ida Mae Brindle is Brandon Brindle's sister, who constantly claims to know various celebrities including Dolly Parton, Clint Eastwood, and Michael Jackson. Much to the chagrin of Joan, Ida Mae goes out with Joan's father, even though Joan suspects that Ida Mae is nothing more than a gold digger!

Ida Mae Brindle is played by Alice Ghostley, who may be best known for her role as Esmerelda on the classic TV series "Bewitched". Sadly, Alice Ghostley passed away in September of 2007.
7. What was the name of the snobby group of girls that Vicki and Harriet were invited to become members of?

Answer: The Princesses

The Princesses want Vicki as a member of their club. However, after Benny Gross (an old frat brother of Ted's) writes a tabloid story exposing Vicki as a robot, she is shunned by the Princesses, and the entire school. Ted, along with Joan, Jamie, Vicki, Harriet, and Reggie use Benny's rival paper to prove that Vicki is not a robot.

The Princess member named Binky is played by Lark Voorhies, who might be best known for her role as Lisa Turtle on the NBC teen sitcom "Saved By The Bell".
8. The Brindles' house fire was caused by faulty wiring.

Answer: False

After the fire, the Brindles basically manipulated the Lawsons into letting them stay at the Lawsons house. Ted couldn't refuse due to the fact that Brandon is his supervisor at work.

Brandon Brindle claimed that faulty wiring started the fire, due to the fact that his insurance claim has a "non smoking" clause. Harriet's parrot revealed that the fire was started by her father falling asleep, and not putting out the cigar he was smoking.

Ted not only made Brandon, and his family go back home, he also made Brandon tear up the phony claims that Brandon was going to give to the insurance company.

Brandon Brindle was played by actor William Bogert, who was featured as Mr. Lightman in the classic 80's movie "WarGames", and as FBI Agent Les Carlisle on the 80's ABC TV series "The Greatest American Hero".
9. Which subject did Jamie, Reggie, Debbie, and Vicki use for their 8th grade class history report?

Answer: WWII

After watching a live radio show (where Ted completely bombs in an interview about his work in robotics), Jamie, and Vicki came up with the idea to put on a radio play about World War II for the school competition, with Jamie, Reggie, and Valley girl Debbie providing vocal, on-air performances, and Vicki providing the sound effects.

Things go slightly awry when Vicki drops her script, but in spite of that, their play wins the school competition.
10. Why were Jamie and Vicki arrested?

Answer: Vandalism

On their way home from the store, Jamie, and Vicki pass by a building that has graffiti painted on it, including a game of "Tic-Tac-Toe". The owner of the building had the kids arrested after he caught Vicki, and Jamie spray painting "Tic-Tac-Toe" (and his shirt). After they were arrested, the police informed Ted and Joan (Marla Pennington).

Ted ended up paying the owner of the building $250 for the building and the shirt. To teach the kids a lesson about the law and respect for the property of others, Sgt. Pepper suggested to Ted that they be locked up in jail (albeit, for a short period of time) in order to scare them straight.

The role of Sgt. Pepper is played by guest star Jo Marie Payton, who is known for her role as Harriet Winslow on the long running ABC/CBS TV series "Family Matters".
