Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Jake Sisko

Answer: Commits suicide so that his father will continue to live

In "Visitor" ('DS9'), the future version of Jake Sisko, realizing that his father has been dragged through time through a father-son connection, kills himself so that his father is transported back to the moment of the accident which originally claimed his life (a power surge from the warp core on the U.S.S. Defiant).
2. Miles O'Brien (Normal and Cloned Version)

Answer: Both of these deaths are applicable

During the course of 'Deep Space Nine', Miles O'Brien dies twice. On the first occasion, a clone of himself is fatally shot by a member of the Paradan authorities in "Whispers" ('DS9'). On the second occasion, O'Brien receives a fatal radiation exposure, but he is replaced himself from three hours in his future in "Visionary" ('DS9').
3. Jean-Luc Picard

Answer: All of these deaths are applicable

During the course of 'The Next Generation', Jean-Luc Picard is killed nineteen times. The first seventeen times Picard dies occur in "Cause and Effect" ('TNG'), when the Enterprise-D collides with the U.S.S. Bozeman, thus creating a temporary causality loop (the Enterprise-D later escapes the loop the eighteenth time).

In "Time Squared" ('TNG'), Picard is forced to kill himself from six hours in the future when the future of the Enterprise is at stake. In "All Good Things..." ('TNG'), an anti-time explosion created by the Enterprise-D from the past, present, and future cause the deaths of the crew members from all three time periods.

The timeline is later rectified by Q.
4. Spock

Answer: Both of these deaths are applicable

In "Yesteryear" ('TAS'), Spock must travel back in time to prevent his death at age seven after his kahns-man survival training on Vulcan is interrupted by a team of Federation historical scientists. Spock is successful in reintegrating his existence into the timeline. In 'Star Trek' II: The Wrath of Khan, Spock is also killed when he receives a severe bout of radiation exposure.
5. Charles "Trip" Tucker III (Cloned Version)

Answer: Dies after certain portions of his brain are given to himself

In "Similitude" ('ENT'), Trip Tucker suffers severe brain trauma after an accident in Engineering. Dr. Phlox unwillingly creates a clone of Trip, nicknamed 'Sim', whose brain patterns will eventually be used to cure the ailing Trip, thus ending Sim's life. Sim, despite the fact that he his a clone, is nevertheless Charles "Trip" Tucker III.
6. William T. Riker (Normal and Mirror Versions)

Answer: Both of these deaths are applicable

Although there are other occasions in which William T. Riker dies, two deaths are realized to be the most prominent. In "Yesterday's Enterprise" ('TNG'), Riker is killed after suffering a fatal blow to the head and neck while battling the Klingons in the alternate reality.
7. James Tiberius Kirk

Answer: Dies after falling hundreds of feet along with a bridge

In the movie "Star Trek: Generations", James Kirk is killed after falling from an extension bridge on Veridian III. Kirk, who was thrown into the Nexus in 2293, reemerges in 2371 to aid Captain Jean-Luc Picard in stopping Tolian Soran from destroying a prewarp civilization on Veridian IV.

The bridge on which Kirk was on collapsed under his weight when he was trying to grab the controller that would disarm Soran's nuclear missile (was going to be used to destroy the Veridian star).
8. Odo (Mirror Version)

Answer: Vaporized by Mirror Bashir

The Odo from the mirror universe is vaporized by Mirror Bashir in "Crossover" ('DS9'), who are attempting to escape from Terek Nor, thus ending his existence in the alternate timeline. The Odo from the 'Star Trek' canon timeline does not die, however.
9. Jadzia Dax

Answer: Assassinated by a Pah-wraith possessed Dukat in the Bajoran shrine

While Jadzia Dax is in the local Bajoran shrine on 'Deep Space Nine', Dukat, who was possessed by a Pah-wraith, attacks and murders her. In the seventh season, Jadzia is replaced by Ezri Dax, who takes up the position of station counselor on 'DS9'.
10. Natasha "Tasha" Yar (Normal and Mirror Version)

Answer: Both of these deaths are applicable

On two somewhat sad occasions, former Enterprise-D officer Tasha Yar is killed. On the first occasion, she is killed by Armus, a gelatin-like hermit living on Vagra II, in order to demonstrate his superior power. On the second occasion, the alternate Tasha Yar ("Yesterday's Enterprise") travels back in time to the days of the Enterprise-C.

She later is captured by the Romulans and is forced to live on Romulus. Many years later, she is shot by a Romulan guard while attempting to leave Romulus with her daughter Sela.
