The first 'Supergran' story was published in 1978, and the series includes "Super Gran Rules O.K." and "Super Gran at the Circus". "Super Gran" is two words in the book titles and one word in the TV series title.

Tynemouth in North East England was used as the filming location for Chisleton.

The machine was stolen from Inventor Black and accidentally fired at Granny one day when she was walking in the park.
