Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which British police drama series was set in Yorkshire during the 1960's and starred Nick Berry as PC Nick Rowan?

Answer: Heartbeat

The show was an adaptation of Peter Walker's (pen-name Nicholas Rhea) "Constable" series of books, primarily as an opportunity to cash in on the popularity that Nick Berry had attained on the soap opera 'EastEnders'. Berry also sings the show's theme song, a reworking of Buddy Holly's 'Heartbeat'.
2. Also the name of this 2001 sitcom, what is the first name of single mother (____) Nell Hart, who shares her home in Houston, Texas with her children Cheyenne, Kyra and Jake?

Answer: Reba

The programme ran for six seasons from 2001 to 2007 and centers on Reba's relationship with her family, her ex-husband Brock (played by Christopher Rich) and his new wife Barbara Jean (Melissa Peterman). Country singer Reba McIntire plays the lead role as well as singing the show's theme song "I'm a Survivor".
3. Which television series featured Red Foxx's character uttering the catch-phrase "This is the big one! I'm coming to join you Elizabeth" every time he tried to fake a heart attack?

Answer: Sanford and Son

Red Foxx portrayed 65 year old scrap dealer Fred Sanford in the series that first aired in January 1972. Sarcastic and manipulative, Fred would regularly endeavour to get his way using the heart attack ruse (it never worked) or his back-up plan, the 'arthur-itis'.

The phrase has been regularly imitated and used as the source of spoof and satire. Some may recall Donkey, in 'Shrek 2' (2004), drinking a potion, crying out "I'm coming Elizabeth" and promptly fainting.
4. Vonda Shepard released an album called 'Heart & Soul' (1999), which was subtitled 'New Songs From _____ _____' (two words), featuring songs from which Fox network television programme?

Answer: Ally McBeal

David E. Kelley created this legal comedy-drama that went to air in 1997. Calista Flockhart played the lead role, and title character, Ally, a lawyer working for Cage and Fish, a fictional Boston law firm. Vonda Shepard served as the show's musical composer and performed the theme song, 'Searchin' My Soul'.

She also features regularly in the show, portraying a piano player in the bar that is frequented by the firm's lawyers.
5. Kimberley Hart is a Power Ranger who appeared in the first three seasons of television's 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers'. Which "girly" colour Power Ranger was she?

Answer: Pink Power Ranger

Kimberley was portrayed by Amy Jo Johnson who requested that she be written out of the series in the third year to pursue other acting opportunities. The show first went to air in 1993. Kimberley was one the original five Power Rangers to be selected by Zordon and was blessed with the Pterodactyl Power Coin and Pterodactyl Dinozord.
6. Peter Bonerz played the role of the sleazy boss, Franklin Hart, in which 1982 American sitcom, based on a 1980 film that featured Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton?

Answer: Nine to Five

Peter took on the role made notable by Dabney Coleman in the movie, though he only managed to retain the role for a year. Peter is probably best known as the off-beat orthodontist in the highly rated 'Bob Newhart Show'.
7. Twenty three US cities are destroyed in what appear to be nuclear attacks in the 2006 television series 'Jericho'. Is Hartford, Connecticut revealed as one of those?

Answer: Yes

Jericho is a fictional town in rural Kansas that becomes isolated after nuclear attacks, followed by an EMP (electromagnetic pulse), destroy cities and communication facilities. Hartford's destruction is indicated in episodes 13 (Black Jack), 14 (Heart of Winter) and 18 (A.K.A.) by virtue of pins stuck in various maps.
8. Robert Wagner and Stephanie Powers played the husband and wife team, Jonathan and Jennifer, who used their spare time as amateur detectives in which ABC television series that first aired in 1979?

Answer: Hart to Hart

Originally, the show's creator, Sidney Sheldon, had intended that the Harts be spies in their lives away from their professions. This was scrapped when the script was handed to Tom Mankiewicz for a re-vamp. Mankiewicz had previously written the scripts for three of the films in the James Bond franchise - Diamonds Are Forever (1971), Live and Let Die (1973) and The Man With the Golden Gun (1974).
9. John Hart replaced Clayton Moore for one season as which masked television hero?

Answer: The Lone Ranger

The audience did not respond well to Hart's portrayal of the Lone Ranger so the studio returned to Moore to reprise the role. Hart, however, was not done with the Lone Ranger. He and Jay Silverheels (Tonto) camped up their roles in the 1970 film 'The Phynx'.

In an episode of 'Happy Days' (Hi Yo, Fonzie Away - February, 1982) Fonzie meets the Lone Ranger (John Hart) whom he admits is his childhood hero. Hart's final movie appearance was as a newspaper editor in the 1981 film version of 'The Legend of The Lone Ranger'.
10. Which TV medical series is set in the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital?

Answer: Scrubs

Created by Bill Lawrence in 2001, Scrubs is a medical comedy drama whose central character, Dr John Dorian, is portrayed by Zach Braff. Zach also served as the show's narrator for the first eight seasons. The de-commissioned North Hollywood Medical Centre served as the location for the Sacred Heart Hospital.
