Frank and Margarita, Rob and Brennan, Joe and Bill, and Pat and Brenda chose the 'Easy Walk' task. To find the clue, teams needed to find a certain pendulum at The Pantheon. In the 'Tough Climb' task, teams needed to go to Notre Dame Cathedral and ring Quasimodo's bell.

Kevin and Drew assumed that since La Grande Roue was closed for twelve hours, they should use the Fast Forward to skip all of the tasks. To receive the Fast Forward, Kevin and Drew needed to find a teahouse called 'Mariage Frere' and pick out a certain tea that would contain their clue.

As teams received their Detour clues, they were instructed to head to the Road Block clue nearby at the Hotel de Ville. Once there, teams needed to put on some gear and prepare for a Road Block underground.

To complete the Road Block, one member of each team had to travel through the sewers of Paris to find a certain city block about two blocks away. Once there, they would find their clue. The other team member was instructed to meet their team member at the exit.

After accidentally going to the wrong pendulum in the 'Easy Walk' task, Pat and Brenda couldn't make up the time. After the Raod Block, teams were instructed to take a train, then a cab to the Pit Stop at Chateau les Baux in Southern France. Many teams found a shortcut in Avignon and arrived much quicker than teams that took the train out of their way to Marseilles.

After departing from Les Baux de Providences, teams were given a flag, a picture, and a clue. Teams discovered that they needed to board a boat to Tunisia to find the man in the picture they were given to receive their next clue.

Only Paul and Amie went out of their way for a twenty-minute full-body massage. The remaining seven teams went for the 'Full Body Brew' task where they were given a picture of a café that they needed to locate.

Teams received a cigarette lighter with the word Eljem and a drawing of a coliseum on it. Although many teams used a taxi to get to the town of Eljem, two teams used the train and realized that it was much slower.

In the Road Block, teams needed to choose a member that wasn't afraid of the dark. That person had to make their way through the coliseum and find a pit with swords dangling over it. They then had to make the way to the Pit Stop with their sword and partner and sheath the sword to check in.

After doing well through the rest of the leg, David and Margaretta had money troubles when their taxi driver wouldn't take American currency. They spent more than twenty minutes trying to get money so that they could arrive in Eljem, but they still arrived last.
