In the 'Volley' task teams needed to find a certain location containing the local ping-pong champion and they had to score five points on him to receive the clue. Frank and Margarita and Rob and Brennan both chose to complete this task.

In the 'Rally' task, teams needed to use three modes of transportation used by Chinese commuters. They had to take a certain bus to a location where they could get a motorcycle ride, then they had to take that to a bicycle rickshaw ride to claim the clue. Kevin and Drew and Bill and Joe completed this task.

Answer: Bean sprouts

Teams needed to go to a large Chinese market and buy five beetle larvae, one squid, and two chicken feet before taking them to a certain restaurant to be cooked. This task prepared teams for the Road Block.

Answer: Rob

For the Road Block task, the chosen team member had to eat all of the items that the team previously bought. They had to bring the items to a restaurant, and have them cooked before beginning the task.

Answer: Kevin and Drew

In a battle with Bill and Joe, Kevin and Drew managed to stay even, but in the end, they went to the wrong gate of Tiantan Park, and they had to run across it to the Pit Stop. This gave Bill and Joe the chance to arrive earlier, and Kevin and Drew were the eighth and final team eliminated from the race.

The hours of operation for the park were from 6:00am to 8:00pm, so many teams needed to wait an entire night before they could receive their clues. Once teams received their clues, they had to go to Juyong Pass at the Great Wall of China by bus to find their clue.

Answer: Steep

In 'Steep', teams had to climb up an extremely steep portion of the Great Wall to find their clue although the trail would be shorter. In 'Flat', teams took a much longer course, but the clue was at the end of a much flatter trail. Teams were then instructed to fly to Alaska and drive to North Country Bed and Breakfast in Scotty Lake. Teams then stayed the night at a log cabin and participated in a Native American Blanket Toss the next morning.

After the blanket toss, teams were instructed to go to Matanuska Glacier to find their clue. Once there, Rob, Frank and Bill participated in the penultimate Road Block which required them to climb an ice wall. At the top, they received their next clue.

Answer: 131

Teams were instructed to head to the Pit Stop, but to find it, they had to park at mile marker 131 on the nearby highway, and take a snowmobile sled to the Pit Stop in the middle of the forest. The Pit Stop was outside of the musher's lodge where teams would be spending the night.

Answer: Rob and Brennan

After completing the Road Block first, Rob and Brennan crept ahead and one the penultimate leg. Next to arrive were Frank and Margarita, and after more than a day later, Bill and Joe arrived. Unfortunately, Bill and Joe did not participate in any of the challenges in leg 13 because they were so far behind.

Answer: Dogpower

In 'Dog Power', teams needed to take a dogsled eleven miles to their cars. In 'Horse Power', teams needed to drive snowmobiles thirty miles to the same cars. Only two teams were able to complete the task because Bill and Joe began this leg of the race long after the first two teams had crossed the finish line.

The two teams completing this leg of the race drove to Fish Lake and received their final Road Block clue which required them to do a polar bear dive into the frigid waters to receive their clues. Once again, Bill and Joe were unable to complete the task.

Answer: Brennan

Only Brennan and Frank participated in this task. Teams were instructed to fly to their final destination, and find their final clue before the end of the race. Teams braced themselves for two long plane rides and prepared for their last challenge.

Answer: New York City

Teams landed in New York City and jumped into their taxis to find their final clue at Vincent Daniels Square in Queens. Surprisingly, Rob and Brennan forged ahead in Frank and Margarita's hometown. The clue at the location told teams to board a nearby train and ride it to Flushing Meadows where they would find the finish line.

Answer: Rob and Brennan

In the end, Rob and Brennan beat Frank and Margarita by a few minutes and won the million dollars at the end of the race. Meanwhile, Bill and Joe found their clue in Alaska telling them that Rob and Brennan had crossed the finish line and that the race was over.
