Immediately upon leaving the pit stop, teams needed to walk to a nearby cove and one member had to swim into the ocean to a buoy. Once there, teams would receive a clue telling them to drive to a metal church two and a half hours away. Tony Paolo had trouble completing the task and rescue swimmers had to swim to his aid.

In 'Brush', teams needed to find a location where they had to paint a certain design on two oxen cart wheels. Once they completed the designs, they would receive their next clue. The Godlewski, Bransen, and Weaver families completed this task.
In the other task, 'Barrel', teams needed to load a ton of sugar cane onto a tractor then ride it to a local rum factory. Once there, teams needed to search for marked barrels in a storage facility, and they had to open them to find their clue. The Linz and Paolo families completed this task.

Answer: Arizona

After the Detour, teams were instructed to fly to Phoenix, Arizona. Once there, teams had to find their marked cars and drive to Bondurant Superkarts School to find their clues. The Godlewski family took a plane top New York, drove to Newark, and flew to Arizona and arrived first.

The Paolo, Bransen, and Weaver families flew to New York and then to Arizona and arrived second, and the Linz family landed a short time after by taking a flight to Atlanta, then to Phoenix.

In leg 7's Road Block, team members had to suit up and jump into a go-kart, then they had to race fifty laps around the track. Teams were required to take a pit stop at lap twenty-five. As soon as the team members crossed the finish line at lap fifty, they received their clue. Michelle Godlewski, Wally Bransen, Linda Weaver, Tommy Linz, and DJ Paolo completed the task for their teams.

After completing the Road Block, teams needed to drive thirty-two miles to Fort McDowell to reach the Pit Stop. The first team to arrive, the Godlewski sisters, won a trip for four to Belize, and the last place team, the Bransens, were stripped of their belongings and their cash.

In the beginning of leg 8, teams were instructed to drive to Mesa, Arizona to find Williams Gateway Airport. Once there, teams needed to wait for the airport to open, and they had to take a number at the door. The Weaver, Godlewski, and Linz families were first to arrive, followed by the Paolos and Bransens.

In this leg, the Bransen family started with $0 because they came in last during the previous non-elimination leg.

In leg 8's Road Block, team members needed to get into a fighter plane and do a 360 degree backflip in midair. Once they finished the task, they would land and receive their next clue. Rolly Weaver, Megan Linz, Sharon Godlewski, Brian Paolo, and Lauren Bransen completed this task for their teams. Once the task was completed, teams needed to go to Lipan Point at the Grand Canyon.

After arriving at Lipan Point, teams needed to drive to the Carl Hagan Visitor Center at The Glen Canyon Dam, and find their clue on the dam. Once they found this clue, they could begin their Detour. The only team to complete the 'Bearing' Detour task was the Weaver family.

In this task, they had to find a clue box containing a certain bearing which they needed to find on their compass. They would then need to follow their different clues to the end where they would receive their clue.

In the 'Bailing' task, teams needed to find a submerged boat and bail all of the water out. Once this was done, they needed to carry it to shore to receive their clue. Although the task was more physically demanding than the 'Bearing' task, many teams completed in less time. The Linz, Godlewski, Paolo, and Bransen families completed this task.

After the Detour, teams needed to drive to the Pit Stop at Antelope Point on Lake Powell. Once there, teams needed to find a marked path and drive a boat to the Pit Stop. The first team to arrive was the Godlewski family who narrowly defeated the Linz family. The Paolos were the last team to arrive and were the sixth team eliminated from "The Amazing Race".
