Answer: Lemonade

For their first task, the sixteen candidates vying to become Donald Trump's apprentice split into two teams, Versacorp for the men and Protege for the women, and hit the streets with $250 seed money to sell lemonade to earn a profit. Whichever team could earn the most money would be able to save themselves from facing Mr. Trump in the boardroom.

While Troy, the project manager for the men, was unable to pull through a victory, Ereka (of Protege) ended up bringing the women a win by setting up in a better location.

Although Troy's leadership was called into question, David became the first fired after admitting a lack of interest and finesse in sales.

Answer: "Calling the kettle black"

For the second challenge, both the men and the women needed to market the Marquis Jet Card, creating an ad campaign consisting of a commercial and other adverts. Ultimately, the women (led by Amy) won the task because they took a risque approach to their ad campaign while the men (led by Jason) didn't approach their bosses to ask for what they were looking for from the ads. Jason was subsequently fired as team leader due to this oversight. During the womens' reward, a flight to Boston for dinner, tensions were raised when Ereka and Omarosa fought. Omarosa, in one of many misunderstandings, believed that "the pot calling the kettle black" was meant as a racial slur towards her.

This marked an early start to the feud between Omarosa and many of the other candidates throughout the season.

Answer: Planet Hollywood

In their fourth task the men and the women worked on consecutive nights to collect more sales over the previous year at the Times Square Planet Hollywood location. For the fourth consecutive time, the women of Protege won the challenge by earning 31% more over the previous year (while the men took in an additional 7%).

The women focused much of their sales in the bar, selling products at a faster rate using sex appeal and capitalizing on high mark-up. The men bickered over ethics when project manager Kwame sat at an autograph table and attempted to sell merchandise with his name signed on it.

Despite Kwame's loss as the team leader, it was Bowie who was fired. After this, the men and women had their teams switched up.

Answer: Piers Morgan

The task in week six involved a celebrity auction-- the teams needed to visit five prescribed celebrities and negotiate convincing packages to put up for auction. Versacorp's celebrities included Regis Philbin, Rocco Dispirito, Carson Daly, Tiki Barber, and Ed Bernero.

They ended up earning a total of $40,000 in the auction at Sotheby's. Protege's celebrities were Russell Simmons, Kate White, Nicole Miller, the Fab Five from "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy", and Isaac Mizrahi; they only earned $35,000. All of the money went to charity and Protege went to the boardroom where Jessie was eliminated from the running for poor negotiation skills.

Answer: Trump Ice

The goal for both teams was to simply sell as much as possible in two days so as to beat the other team in total profits. Because Protege was able to secure two distributors and organize a replenishment system rather than sell small amounts to consumers with little room in their storerooms, they were able to defeat Versacorp quite easily. Ereka was accused of playing too emotional a game in the boardroom by saving her friend from facing Trump.

This coupled with a lack of reasoning as to why she should be spared ended up making her the fourth consecutive female candidate eliminated from the game, evening the genders on the playing field.

Answer: Omarosa

While Nick, the project manager for Versacorp, opted to go against his team and pick an artist he felt would yield the most profit, Kwame and Protege went for a lesser-known artist whose works were less accessible. After losing the challenge by over $12,000 (the widest margin yet), Protege went to the boardroom where Omarosa, asked to be part of the three who would be up for elimination, reentered the boardroom before she was asked to to plea for her spot in the competition. Trump fired her soon after for a streak of excuses, many of which revolved around a supposed head injury sustained two weeks earlier.

Answer: Rickshaws

In week ten, the remaining seven contestants were told that they would be running rickshaws around New York City for the day. Whichever team earned the most money would end up winning the task and be exempt from the boardroom. Troy and Protege used a strategy Troy previously used in week eight to earn only $382 while Bill and Versacorp earned nearly ten times the money by using the rickshaws as a platform for advertising.

Their ads came from a number of clients they'd worked with in prior tasks and they earned over $3,600.

Heidi was fired in this episode; up against Troy, Mr. Trump felt she did not have the leadership qualities required to become 'The Apprentice'.

Answer: Seven

In week thirteen, the final five candidates had to rent an apartment in Trump World Tower for a single night at a price of over $20,000. Nick and Amy, the remaining members of Versacorp, more than doubled the expected amount to win the task while Troy was fired due to his three losses in the game and his prior issues with business ethics.
Troy's firing was the first male casualty in nearly two months of the competition; the prior seven weeks featured the firings of all but one of the female candidates (all except Amy). Prior to that, the men were the only ones to lose.

Answer: Two

When the final four were brought together in the final week of the competition they were introduced to four different major figures in Trump's organization. They would need to have one-on-one interviews with each of them and then these reactions would be relayed back to Trump in the boardroom.

The first casualty of this process was Nick who, according to Trump, could not command the authority of his peers enough to be successful in the job. The second eliminated contestant was Amy, the only contestant to strongly rub the interviewers the wrong way-- one referred to her as a Stepford wife while others called her hollow.

Answer: Bill

For their final tasks, Bill and Kwame met with Mr. Trump and chose from past eliminated contestants to help them secure a victory. Kwame was tasked with managing a Jessica Simpson concert in the city with Heidi, Omarosa, and Troy on his team; Bill needed to manage a golf tournament at one of Trump's major courses with Amy, Katrina, and Nick under his wing.

In the end, Bill won the competition, mainly because of his track record and business skills and the fact that Kwame did not deal effectively with Omarosa during the concert. As a reward, Bill received a one year contract managing the construction of Chicago's Trump International Hotel and Tower.

After his year was completed, Bill remained with the Trump Organization, even appearing in future seasons of the show as an adviser.
