1. In one story, the Doctor and Rose meet Cassandra. Which planet's death do they just miss seeing?

Answer: Earth

Cassandra, the "last human" has had so much plastic surgery that she is nothing but skin. She creates a dangerous situation which causes the Doctor and Rose to miss seeing the death of Earth. The story is called "The End of the World".

2. The ninth Doctor and Rose meet Charles Dickens. Where and when are they?

Answer: 1869 - Cardiff

The Doctor and Rose were actually aiming at Naples in 1860, but wound up in Cardiff a few years later. The episode is called "The Unquiet Dead" and Dickens is one of the few "real" characters to appear in the series. (Others have included Marco Polo and Doc Holiday.)

3. The fourth Doctor and Leela encountered a Rutan in one story. Where were they?

Answer: At a lighthouse at Fang Rock

In "The Horror of Fang Rock", the Doctor and Leela spend time at a lighthouse on Fang Rock, which is being menaced by a seaweedish alien called a Rutan. This is the story where everyone dies except the Doctor and Leela.

4. The sixth Doctor and Peri and the second Doctor and Jamie meet the Androgums, and spend time in a European country. Which city do they visit?

In "The Two Doctors", the two Doctors and their companions meet up in Seville, Spain, where an Androgum called Shockeye has designs on Peri.

In the episode "Dalek", the Doctor and Rose find a Dalek in a Utah museum. This is not the first story set in the USA... "The Gunfighters" and the eighth Doctor's "The Enemy Within" are just two examples.

Answer: On a spaceship

"Four to Doomsday" is set on a Urbankan spaceship. The fifth Doctor and his three companions meet various characters including Enlightenment, Persuasion, Monarch and an Australian Aboriginal man. The chances of Tegan knowing which dialect to use (or even knowing ANY dialect that someone from that far in the past would know) are slimmer than the chances of me travelling in the Tardis.

9. Which of the following stories is not set in Wales?

Answer: Invasion of the Dinosaurs

The third Doctor story "Invasion of the Dinosaurs" is set in London, while the others are all in Wales - "Green Death" in Llanfairfach, "Delta" in a holiday camp near Llandrudnod, and "Unquiet" in Cardiff.

10. Where did the Krynoid pod land on Earth?

Answer: Antarctica

The fourth Doctor and Sarah had a nasty encounter with a botanist called Harrison Chase and the hungry vegetable called a "krynoid" in "The Seeds of Doom". The pod from which the Krynoid grew had landed at the South Pole, in Antarctica.
